> 3 dayI got my first Sonoff switch a few years ago. Had to wire it up myself, but it worked well. These S40s are terrific. Just plug em in. The connection is established with Bluetooth, and from then on theyre connected to the internet through the local router. Using eWeLink, you can turn things on and off in your house from anywhere in the world. Several years ago, it was disappointing that eWeLink was a phone-only application. But thats fixed. You can now have the app on your computer to control these guys as well. The S40s are dead-nuts simple to use. Once programmed, you can unplug them, and plug them in anywhere else in the house without changing anything. Its nice that theyre great, but theyre also available at bargain prices. Cheap thrill.

> 3 dayEnclosure design is excellent for getting access to innards to flash custom firmware (Tasmota in my case). Not glued together but held together with snaps and screws. Build quality is good. Did not use stock software to control with Alexa but flashed firmware for local control (device does not “phone home” to China. WiFi reception is strong with the ESP chip (stronger than many comparable devices). So far, very pleased with design and results. All together, I’ve purchased 8 of the S31 (both Lite and EM versions) and they all work (some other brands were somewhat hit or miss). Good QC.

Greater than one weekDependable smart switch. I have it paired to Smartthings and Home Assistant. The only issue I had was the initial set up but thats because I have a mesh wifi system where the 2.4 and 5 GHz channels share the same name.
