Theres nothing wrong with it, but how can you love cable - so only 4 stars. Actually, its fine and the right size for a small project. I tried to buy it from my hometown hardware but they didnt carry this short length.

Great for the price. It did the job and was way cheaper than the local store.

THE BEST speaker cable I have ever used. I dont know where I read about using Romex 12/2 for speaker wire, but it is better than good. It made my hybrid tube amp + small speaker combo at least one notch better, getting ever closer to a real live performance. I was using some old Monster S14 cable with obvious oxidation from about 2 decades of use. Over time, I had upgraded the speakers and the amps, but never the speaker cable because this is a hotly debated issue: sound quality and a speaker cable. I was a non believer until I got better interconnects- the sound improvement was incredible. So, anyways, I read about Romex online somewhere and then went back to my old house which I moved from recently and saw an excess roll in my garage. I grabbed it like it was gold because basically I could try it for free. All I did was strip the black and white wires and bent the ground back. I twisted the cable slightly, but left everything in the yellow housing. This wire is STIFF. I imagine you can break your pretty amp bindings with this, but I was careful and listened to it right away. From my average to bad cable, this Romex 12/2 sounded like I bought a multi-thousand dollar amp. Vocals completely separated from the instruments and any duet or backup singers can clearly be heard- and this is only on streaming media! (maybe 320kbps or less). The cable is superb as a speaker cable. I imagine that this fat, solid cable provides a wide open freeway for electrons to fly down to my speakers. Whatever the reason, it sounds good. This spurred me into buying a legitimate cable and the sound quality wasnt even close. There is no reason why not to try it. Fun and seriously good. I cant believe I wrote this.
