> 24 hourIm pretty satisfied with this filter. It seems to be very well-constructed. The rolled inner and outer seams are a nice touch. Keeps the surface nice and smooth, so you dont rip up your sponge, brush(or hands) while cleaning it. I only purchased the filter, not the filter and jar combo, because our local Walmart carries the very same Ball half-gallon wide mouth mason jars in a 6-pack for about 10$. So if you plan on brewing multiple batches of coffee, tea, or whatever, that might be a more cost-effective way of going about it. For my first batch I decided to try a bean that was specifically selected and ground for cold brewing. So I tried Stone Street Cold Brew. They sell here on Amazon, their facility is actually located near where I live and we have an Amazon warehouse here in town, so I figured the beans would be pretty fresh. The first batch came out quite tasty! Im pretty darn satisfied with the results! The company actually reached out to me and asked how I liked the product and if I had any complaints, suggestions etc. So I replied. The one thing that came as a bit of a shock to me about the results of the first batch was that it produced a surprising amount of sediment at the bottom of the jar. The mesh used in the filter is impressively fine, so I expected less. But it didnt seem to negatively effect the results of the batch. In fact, a kind representative of the company took the time to explain to me in detail how the company experimented with a wide variety of micron meshes in their R&D process for their filter. Too large a mesh and you let alot of solids through the filter, which can alter the taste and add unwanted bitterness. Too fine a mesh and the water doesnt filter through very well while brewing and you lose notes of flavor and depth. So they chose the mesh they use now as a happy medium of producing bold flavors with minimal sediment. And I think it was a good choice on their part. The larger than expected amount of sediment I experienced in my first batch could very well be because of a larger than usual amount of micro-fines in the grinds I bought. I will have to experiment over time with grinding my own beans at home and comparing the results. Honestly the only reason why I gave the filter 4* and not 5 is because for someone like me, on a limited budget, it is a bit pricey. Especially for the filter/jar combo, considering how inexpensive the same jars are to buy in stores. (However, in all fairness I see many people selling those single Ball mason jars on here for the same price I paid for a 6pack in Walmart) There are other, similar filters for less money on Amazon, but I cannot speak for the quality of the materials used in those filters. I can say that when you see this filter in person, you will see that it is very sturdy and made of excellent quality materials. Im going to continue using it and experimenting with different beans and grind sizes and if I find that I keep getting satisfying results and the filter holds up over time I may even come back and give it 5*. I also have to say that their customer service has been fantastic. To me, that counts for a lot in my opinion of a company and its products.

> 24 hourWe had two County Line Kitchen cold brew setups with the mesh filter and 2 quart jar. My husband took one with him out of town and accidentally left it at his hotel. We make so much cold brew we had to order a replacement! We love this simple cold brew tool!

> 24 hourPerfect filter size to avoid annoying sediment but makes perfect cold brew. Paired with a large mason jar and another company sells a green handle pour lid that fits the jar even with filter in. Perfect cold brew set. Recommended.

> 24 hourIve been making Cold Brew for a couple of years. My old method was a cheesecloth bag and a 2 gallon Bell jar. While it works perfectly, cleaning the bag full of grounds was a mess. I already had the drink pitcher, which I poured my cold brew into after brew, I decided to order just the filter and try it out. Perfection! So easy to clean, I just remove the filter and put it in the sink for a bit to finish draining. Shake it out over the trashcan and all the grounds come right out. Rinse and done. I LOVE THIS THING!!!

> 24 hourI bought this with the intention of fruit infused water in a 2 quart mason jar and works well. The mesh is extremely fine, so I may buy a 2nd one strictly for cold brew coffee. I’ll update my review after I figure out how to clean it, I’d recommend never letting fruit dry inside as it may be near impossible to clean the base of the filter as it only has one open end.
