I ordered from StarTech again, brand familiarity...not failed me yet!

I contacted Startech asking about the specs and design of the surge protector. They refuse to tell me or something. After opening it up I think it is your basic Metal oxide varistor (MOV) style but here is Startechs response: I do not currently have information on what type of surge protector that the RKPW081915 has. This is something I may be able to escalate to find out more. I can say that the Load Capacity is 1800VA. We do recommend that the RKPW081915 is plugged directly into a powersource rather than through another unit. So you may not be using the RKPW081915 in a recommended configuration by plugging it into a UPS. If you do wish to pursue escalating the request to find out more about the type of surge protector please do let me know if there is a certification or business requirement for this information and if you are ordering any quantity of the RKPW081915 units. This and any other information you could provide may assist in getting this information as quickly as possible. Some product information requests can take some time to complete. I will remember this when I go to purchase for the huge companies I do work for

Works great but of course I have three other surge protects in total.. Cant be to safe when you have over 7500.00 invested in your system

Economy

Hate looking at power cords? Then definitely get this as an add on to your communications rack. It gives a much cleaner finish to a communications rack.

I love for having 16 outlets in one device. It is perfect for the rack. StarTech is not expensive compare to the competitor. It is slightly heavy because it is a metal. So you may need to use 4 screws instead tricking by 2 screws. I like them to having the outlet sideway. But, I wish they have some of the horizontal outlet. So we can mix match due to the adapter. The cord is good length.

Worked perfectly for my set up. Love it. Heavy duty. Mounted easily.

Like the price, and I think 2 things could be improve would be to have a harder snappier switch and know why both the power light and the surge protection light are both on. How about just a power light and only have the surge light show if a problem?? Otherwise a good product, works well at a good price

This power strip works as expected. Feels sturdy in hand. Stable mounted. You only need to be very careful when working near it - its power switch can be easily triggered and turned off or recycled causing devices to restart or even data loss. I wish they added a plastic cover to the switch even if it means a few dollars more expensive.
