It provides a convenient way to fill the openings along the foundation of the house from the inside.

We bought this because it came with the gloves for handling the steel wool. The gloves work well and we were able to plug up some holes where chipmunks and mice were getting into the garage and house.

Theres nothing revolutionary here in terms of the construction of this steel wool. Except perhaps that it comes in sheets that lend themselves to this application. This serves as a semi-permanennt solution for filling holes where rodents or other medium sized pests might travel. This replaces or delays the need for a proper drywall, plaster or more involved solution. Each package can probably be used to impede 3-4 holes though, of course, hole sizes vary.
