> 3 dayThis thing came as a pair with a storage slash carrying case. Very well built. You can feel the quality in the weight not made out of pot metal. Does a great job marking so you dont get any drill bit slide.

> 3 dayWould have given 5 stars but one had a chipped point, I reground it myself, works fine. Without than small hiccup I’d give them a “10”.

> 3 dayPunch looks good, but operation is inconsistent and rough with metal to metal friction during operation. Auto punch function is not smooth and requires too much force to be consistent even with spring adjustability.

Callout
Greater than one weekCompared to my previous spring loaded center punches, this one is slightly inferior while still being adequate for occasional use. It is considerably longer than my other ones, making it more difficult to fit into confined areas. It also doesnt have a particularly strong action, and it only punches toward the very end of a relatively stiff travel. So its kind of big, weak, and heavy. But it does generally work. Im using them to lay out railroad signal control terminal boards which are plastic/fiber coated plywood, and you really have to punch 2 or 3 times to make an impression. Which doesnt sound bad until you realize Im punching to drill dozens, sometimes hundreds of holes and a more effective tool would be far less taxing. The one upside of the large size is that its easier to grip. The fact that you get two is a bonus and they are inexpensive which must be considered for a tool that will be eventually lost. The little case is nice but not very useful unless I can repurpose it. Id rather have a harder/sharper tip with a stronger action than the case.

Greater than one weekMy friend was skeptical, but it worked for what I needed it for. Worked on a screw that need to be extracted in a engine block!

Greater than one weekOne of the 2 punches has stopped working, was not used much. They dont punch the hardest but a couple punches on the same spot and it is perfect

> 3 dayIve decided to write my first Amazon review due to how spectacularly bad this product is. Both centerpunches were completely non functional out of the box. One of them was completely jammed which indicates that they are not tested AT ALL at the factory. I opened them up to see what was wrong. I was blown away by how much was wrong: -One of the parts was assembled backwards in one of the centerpunches. after I fixed that, it still didnt work. -The finish of the internal parts is so rough that they constantly catch on each other preventing the mechanism from working. They look like they were made by the worlds cheapest lathe and were not sanded or polished at all. -One of the main springs was very bent which prevented it from being fully compressed. Even after I sanded the heck out of the parts and drenched the inside with WD-40, it still only worked maybe 10% of the time I compressed it. To add even further insult to injury, the force of a successful punch would cause the parts to get jammed, requiring disassembly to unjam. I cannot think of any product Ive used that was anywhere near as bad as this one. Everything indicates that quality control for this product simply does not exist; they dont test these at all. All it would take to discern my copy was broken would be to test it just once. This is literally the worst thing I have spent money on in my entire life. That is not hyperbole. I cannot think of anything else that was this dysfunctional.
