the right thickness for most of my art work, which is on the heavy side. If I need more support I just run another set of d-rings and wire.

Super SoftStrand is very finger-friendly, Super-soft, flexible, smooth on your fingers - easy to twist. I use it for a wide variety of picture hanging tasks as well as with many other craft products. It is much more economical than buying the short lengths of wire at an art or box store. I was really happy with the product, the price, and the time it took to get it. Will purchase again.

I originally bought this stuff to hang pictures - and it does a great job at that task. The plastic coated wire can be bent into twists and knots that stay put. Its plenty strong enough for most tasks. My wife asked me for something to tie wire fencing to posts and I gave her the remainder of my Supersoftstrand roll. Now she uses it for everything in her landscaping and gardening work and I cant get the roll back. So, I had to purchase an additional roll - for hanging pictures.

No problems or issues. Item was as described and arrived in a timely manner. Its easy to work with and I like the nice plastic coating.

This wire is amazing. I used it to hang a lot of paintings and it is soft and secure. Looks very professional for shows. And inexpensive enough to buy in bulk.

I am using this to add a decent hanging wire to the back of the many large custom giclee canvas prints that I produce from my home studio. The final images are hung 1st in my home/studio, some are on temporary display elsewhere and soon some will be on sale at a local gallery. The covering makes hanging the art pieces much easier on the hands--and black oxidation doesnt get out of the plastic covering (if the wire oxidizes at all--havent seen it yet). Been using it since Fall 2012.

This is it. When you want to hang your art, use this wire. Learn a couple of knots to tie off the ends and this wire will work outstanding!

I love this wire. As an artist I frame my own work which includs attaching the wire. I first ran across this wire when I ordered a custom frame and this type wire came with it. FIRST, it is made in the USA!!!! (Support us for a change!) Second, it is very flexible as its many strands of thiner wire cabled together AND Third, its coated with a plastic so that it doesnt break easily and there are no slivers to cut your fingers on when using it. I am proud of my art work and present it in a way that reflects that pride. So I was very pleased to get my hands on some great wire. The one caution, you do not get the exact same weight the picture and discreption say. Its heavier, but not significantly so that it is still great for my use.

I produce fine art photography and digital art on canvas for sale & display at art shows. Most Art Guilds require you to wrap the ends of the picture hanging wire with tape to avoid cuts when hanging your pictures. I no longer have to go through the added time of wrapping the ends because this wire is coated and does not produce sharp edges. The #5 wire is a good all purpose wire. It will hold 43 lbs. but is not too thick for smaller pictures. It is easy to work with and easy to wrap the ends. It is strong and durable for all picture hanging applications. Buying this on Amazon is also a real money saver. It costs about $0.07 per foot on Amazon when purchased in the standard 500 roll. You can buy this at craft stores or hardware stores, but you will pay about $0.30 per foot in 10 packages. If 500 is too much for you, you may want to offer to share the cost with other people who hang a lot of pictures or members of your Arts Guild. I already sold over 300 at my cost to other Art Guild members and I will be placing an order for another roll. Overall this is a great product. I would highly recommend it. For extra strength, you should check out another Amazon product, the Loos Cableware SL1-2 Aluminum Duplex Oval Crimping Sleeve Set for 1/16 Diameter Wire Rope (50 Piece). If you use these crimping sleeves on heavier pictures along with the SuperSoftstrand #5 wire, your picture will be secure and will never unravel. It is recommended to use a crimping tool, but you can also use a good pair of heavy duty pliers to crimp these connectors.
