Well, everything was going great with this toy. Than I witnessed one of my parakeets take a frayed strand of rope and pull it off the string (it was a fluffy tuft). He then decided to eat it. He seems to be alright so it probably passed through his digestion, I hope. I would not recommend this toy because of the way it frayed. my birds other rope toy does not become fluffy when frayed, which is a good thing. I dont want my birds or anyone elses to get hurt by faulty toy. I wish I knew what specific type of rope they used on this toy, so i could avoid it. My only thought is that they might have used yarn.

Nigel loves this toy

I had this toy with my bird for a while. Some how my quaker parrot was able to get the strings caught around his neck. I was not home, and when I came back he had choked to death, likely broke his neck, and cut his neck open and bled all over the wall from this digging into his skin. It was a horrific scene and was traumatizing. Please please please do not ever let your bird around this toy. I am utterly devastated and I cant imagine this happening to anyone elses bird. I love my bird so much and this toy caused him to have a brutally painful death

Was told by several places this is not safe for birds

I love seeing my birds cuddle up to it at night and playing with it in the day.

My conure loves this! He likes to snuggle up next to it while sleeping and preen it as well!

Didn’t last snd made a mess

I am rating this item average after observing my birds interaction, over a number of years, with a similar product which is apparently no longer available for purchase. That product was called cotton candy ______ and it came as part of a package deal: the bird, bird cage and numerous bird toys. The previous owner(s) wanted to travel extensively and owning the bird was problematic so they gave the whole package to the bird store who sold us the bird, cage and toys. Over time the bird eventually used up the cotton candy ______ cage toy. I tried for months, unsuccessfully, to find an identical replacement product. I purchased this product following an extensive review of purchases made by others. Initially my bird completely ignored this product. However, after a couple of months, the bird is finally using it to clean its beak and it is beginning to show signs of wear. The level of interaction between the bird and these two products may simply be explained by the birds familiarity with these two items or some other variable. My review simply identifies my observations of my birds interaction with two different products. If anyone knows where I can purchase cotton candy ____ I would sincerely appreciate their posting this info here.

My little girl loved it, but she tore it to pieces very quickly.
