Tactics Ogre was always one of my favorite tactical rpgs, and the Reborn version breathes enough new life into the game to make it well worth a replay.

Game is great, but upon receipt, the disc was loose in the box and definitely had rattled around during transit. Plays just fine though. Better packaging would be nice, but product is awesome.

I played the original on PS1 a long time ago. Upgraded a few things but true to the original. Tactics and turn base strategy at its best.

Tactics Ogre Reborn is a remake of a remake. It is remake inception. The original Tactics Ogre was remade on the PSP called Tactics Ogre Let Us Cling Together. This game is a remake of the Let Us Cling together. Unfortunately, though some of the games attributes were streamlined, there are still quality of life ideas missing. For instance, you dont know which class can equip what weapons unless you buy it. Theres no list of skills that you can learn; skills are now tied to weapons rather than classes and itd be nice to know what the skill list is before investing into leveling up a weapon. There is an arbitrary level cap that hinders you throughout the game. It is increased every 3 or so levels after 3-5 battles. Unfortunately, some of the battles are at your level cap or even higher. This takes away freedom from the game. Some players like to play underleveled, some like to play at the enemy level, and some like to play overleveled. Restricting play styles is quite awful and a step backwards from the series.

I played the original Tactics Ogre on the PS1 since 1998 and its my single-most favorite game. I spent hundreds of hours with the original release. While I love this game, it is dated by todays standards. The equipment and inventory system was mixed. Each character had 4 slots to use for equipment and consumable items. Need to bring some MP boosting items for your mages? Well youre going to sacrifice equipping a wand/robe/ring/headgear for one consumable item. While the customizability was fun; albeit impractical; have a Cleric equipped with a spear? You can do it. The leveling system was earned PER action in battle; cast a heal = earn exp, hit an enemy = earn exp. Of course you earned more exp if your target was a higher level than yourself.

Es una excelente sorpresa en el genero de Tactics JRPG, una historia que se va desenvolviendo de acuerdo a tus opciones, con un excelente calidad y rejugabilidad

I know- the title offers a heavy expectation. I was amazed that after years of looking for something similar to the days I spent pouring hours into Final Fantasy tactics(Both PSP and GBA) I finally get a lively feeling of nostalgia. This game is basically the grandfather of the previously mentioned series, and lives up to all expectations. The sprites are similar, gives you that good old days type of vibes. You will need to learn the ins and outs of classes and system but afterwards the game does play out well and very smoothly.

A fan of the old original PlayStation game and enjoyed this game as well and the memories it helped generate.
