I never played the original Tactics Ogre, but I loved Final Fantasy Tactics and this game definitely reminds me of it. So far put in about 15 hours to get into chapter 2 and its fun. Doesnt feel too grindy so far. There are some housekeeping issues that can make buying and equipping items tedious (no option to equip best items so you have to go through each item one by one, have to keep exiting the shop to equip items), but I think thats just the nature of how the original was designed. I think FF Tactics improved on some of these issues. I got PS4 version to play on PS5. PS4 version comes with free PS5 digital upgrade. Game runs well on PS5, no issues so far. Voice acting pretty good. Overall happy with game so far and looking forward to finishing it.

Es una excelente sorpresa en el genero de Tactics JRPG, una historia que se va desenvolviendo de acuerdo a tus opciones, con un excelente calidad y rejugabilidad

A fan of the old original PlayStation game and enjoyed this game as well and the memories it helped generate.

I played the original Tactics Ogre on the PS1 since 1998 and its my single-most favorite game. I spent hundreds of hours with the original release. While I love this game, it is dated by todays standards. The equipment and inventory system was mixed. Each character had 4 slots to use for equipment and consumable items. Need to bring some MP boosting items for your mages? Well youre going to sacrifice equipping a wand/robe/ring/headgear for one consumable item. While the customizability was fun; albeit impractical; have a Cleric equipped with a spear? You can do it. The leveling system was earned PER action in battle; cast a heal = earn exp, hit an enemy = earn exp. Of course you earned more exp if your target was a higher level than yourself.

Tactics Ogre Reborn is a remake of a remake. It is remake inception. The original Tactics Ogre was remade on the PSP called Tactics Ogre Let Us Cling Together. This game is a remake of the Let Us Cling together. Unfortunately, though some of the games attributes were streamlined, there are still quality of life ideas missing. For instance, you dont know which class can equip what weapons unless you buy it. Theres no list of skills that you can learn; skills are now tied to weapons rather than classes and itd be nice to know what the skill list is before investing into leveling up a weapon. There is an arbitrary level cap that hinders you throughout the game. It is increased every 3 or so levels after 3-5 battles. Unfortunately, some of the battles are at your level cap or even higher. This takes away freedom from the game. Some players like to play underleveled, some like to play at the enemy level, and some like to play overleveled. Restricting play styles is quite awful and a step backwards from the series.

I know- the title offers a heavy expectation. I was amazed that after years of looking for something similar to the days I spent pouring hours into Final Fantasy tactics(Both PSP and GBA) I finally get a lively feeling of nostalgia. This game is basically the grandfather of the previously mentioned series, and lives up to all expectations. The sprites are similar, gives you that good old days type of vibes. You will need to learn the ins and outs of classes and system but afterwards the game does play out well and very smoothly.

Game is great, but upon receipt, the disc was loose in the box and definitely had rattled around during transit. Plays just fine though. Better packaging would be nice, but product is awesome.

I played the original on PS1 a long time ago. Upgraded a few things but true to the original. Tactics and turn base strategy at its best.

Tactics Ogre was always one of my favorite tactical rpgs, and the Reborn version breathes enough new life into the game to make it well worth a replay.

Tactics Ogre, crown jewel of the tactical role-playing genre, is reborn! Based on the 2010 release, the game features improved graphics and sound, as well as updated game design, bringing to life a new Tactics Ogre that remains true to its roots. Tactics Ogre veterans will experience a game that surpasses their fondest memories, while players new to Tactics Ogre will discover a game unlike any they"ve ever played. Reborn and deeper than ever, the game enables players to immerse themselves in the world and intrigue of Tactics Ogre like never before. The Valerian Isles, jewels of the Obero Sea. Long a center of naval commerce, the people of the isles struggled throughout history for dominion over her shores. Finally there rose a man to put an end to this conflict: Dorgalua Oberyth. But history would know him as the "Dynast-King." King Dorgalua strove to stamp out the hatred among the people of the isles, and for fully half a century, Valeria knew prosperity. Yet upon the king"s death, civil war erupted anew as three factions vied for control: the Bakram, who comprised much of Valeria"s nobility; the Galgastani, whose people made up the majority of the isles" population; and the Walister, who numbered but few. The isles were soon divided between the Bakram and Galgastani, and an uneasy peace settled across the land. Yet none believed the calm would last... Copyright 1995, 2022 SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD.
