This is a one-of-a-kind tool as far as Im concerned. These knives are tough as nails and will do tasks that would destroy a standard utility knife. Ive never broken one I just seem to lose one now and then. A truly great product.

Thought I was getting a made in Japan utility knife. Turns out to be made in China. The red handle does not feel as good a the Japanese model.

Its heavy duty and I think it is made by the same people that make olfa knives. Everything is the same except it has clicks when retracting and a smooth grippy plastic handle. I think I like it better than olfa

I have been using the Tajima knives for at least the last ten years. I install EIFS and I cut a lot of Styrofoam, and these are the best.

Love these knives...sturdy and easy blade change.

Decently made. Comparable to Olfas knives. Locks securely, good grip. However, I found that when I need this size blade for cutting tougher material, its best to go to a standard utility knife with the trapezoidal blades (i.e. Stanley, Irwin, Milwaukee, etc), as those blades are stiffer, and one can even buy extra stiff trapezoidal blades if needed.

There simply is not a better knife. The strength of blade and the ease of use made me just empty out all the other blade replacement knives. Sears sold this years ago and stopped carrying them, a shame. The original reviewer is right, you can keep on sharpening these until they deform. I usually change blades due to abuse on my part. I now own 7 of these. One for each place of business and 3 in my home/garage so I never am without this tool. I wish they made a hook blade.
