TechMatte Magnetic Replacement Cap Compatible with Apple Pencil 1st Generation (with Cap Holder) (Updated Version)

These are handy, but I dont use them much because they make it too bulky to fit in the pencil holder in my case.

This is a nice replacement for the Apple Pencil cap. The rubber connection piece that holds the cap and the pencil together is a lifesaver if you have younger ones that tend to lose the cap. Minus 1 star because the cap often pops off easily, but not a big deal because the rubber connector piece holds it together. My child has yet to lose the cap, so it was worth the purchase!

So the original cap I ordered looked super similar to my previous cap I had dropped and cracked. I was impressed by the secure for and strong magnet that I had seen a lot of people said were lacking on other brands of replacement caps. However, on the second week the metal inside piece of the cap fell out and I had to push it back in. At that point I also noticed a small crack which in my old cap had been the end of the cap, as it fell apart shortly after. I reached out to customer service and explained the situation and they responded within hours and I received a replacement within about 4 days. I am so impressed with the speed and friendliness they handled my case.

Tried a replacement cap from another vendor. It did not hold tight, I didnt feel it would stay on. This one however has a good fit, even without the tether. I can recommend this one fully

I’ve tried a couple of different replacement caps and this is the only one that I’ve purchased that is identical to the factory Apple cap! It’s been a great replacement for the original one, and it is nowhere near as expensive as the original cap! You can buy the Apple cap original from most Apple stores if you ask about them, but it was $35.00 + taxes. I have also purchased the Apple tips from the online store as well as the Apple store in Austin at the Domain or Barton Creek Mall. They may not carry the cap seperely now as I lost mine just a few weeks after getting my iPad Pro 10.5 inch tablets and pencils for my husband and myself from the oneline store. It’s exactly the same thing as the factory cap and may even be stronger as well! I tried the plastic type and they start out tight, but they start to just fall off. I know exactly where my factory cap is at, I just haven’t been able to get to it, it’s stuck to the bottom of our Kenmore front loading washer and I’ve tried everything to get it out, but it immediately sticks back to the drawer base and it’s incredibly heavy to move. The first generation of this cap wasn’t strong enough and it fell off as well. I was using a different lanyard than the one that comes with this deal and this one is tighter than others I’ve owned. Basically for the price your getting an identical cap as the factory cap and a much tighter fitting rubber lanyard that completely covers the cap and fits much tighter around the pencil! This is the best replacement for the money you can get!

Didn’t end up keeping this as I made the decision to just upgrade my iPad setup altogether and therefore upgrade to the 2nd gen Apple Pencil, but wanted to mention here that this cheap little product passed my extremely observant and frankly picky tests. This will solve your 1st gen Apple Pencil cap replacement issues.

I dont know why they would design the tops to fall off so easy so im glad I found this on here haha

If you own a Apple Pencil then this is a necessity. Great product and price.
