This will come in handy in graphing classes in our grandsons Senior year.

My daughter needs a TI-84 (or equivalent) calculator for high school. The choice was between the CE and base 84+. We chose the CE with its rechargeable battery, much lighter weight and about half as thick. She chose the rose gold color, which looks nice. Otherwise I really don’t know much about functionality as I’m not the one using it and it wasn’t available 35 years ago when I was in school. Her teacher warned that sometimes students forget to charge them because the battery lasts so long. However, if she carries her cable she can use her Chromebook to charge it, plus the school has calculators in classrooms. We bought one for my son 4 years ago and it worked great for a year until he left it somewhere (he thinks he left it in the classroom) and never saw it again. We replaced it with the base model, which isn’t nearly as nice as the CE. Given the choice I would always choose the CE.

Core functionality: Retains all of the functionality of previous 84-series USB micro cable included for charging and digital link (for adding and viewing programs, exporting and importing data sets etc) COLOR SCREEN! This is the big one. Aside from being a massive aesthetic improvement, this really makes multi-function graphs easier to work with. The screen has adjustable brightness and at its max setting is more than bright enough for any indoor use. This screen works perfect in dark or dim areas without having to be constantly turning and tilting the calculator to get the right viewing angle like the old LCDs User-friendly(er) functions. I believe TI calls this math-print, meaning it has graphical symbols that make it more obvious where to input the argument to functions. At first I was underwhelmed by this idea, but having used it quite a bit now with summation, integral and derivative functions, I have come around to the opinion that it is quite a nice enhancement. Rechargeable battery via USB cable. Thinner, lighter, more modern appearance. I was honestly a bit disappointed that it was not faster at plotting than it is, but it is a significant improvement over the older models. It also does not add anything in the way of symbolic evaluation of expressions, so dont think you are going to use it to find all your integrals and derivatives. However, it does compute them numerically, which you can use to validate any solution you find through your own symbolic evaluation. If you are going into STEM career, you are going to need a graphing calculator. By the time you graduate you will know this calculator like the back of your hand. Although its really not an earth-shattering improvement over a calculator you could pick up for 30 bucks at your local pawn shop, the small things make a big difference when you are talking about something you use that much.

Works very well for graphing, chemistry, etc. You can do just about anything on it.

item was a gift and delivered but remains untested, TI have always been good so I do not forsee any problems with it.

I’m an engineering major with a minor in mathematics and I needed to buy a graphing calculator for my STATS class this last semester. Not only does it do integrals, summations, and graphs but it also shows you the symbols you’re using. Even when using the STATS InvNorm or Binompdf it will still show you the mu or sigma input options where other calculators I’ve seen will not tell you which input is what type of value. On top of that, it does python which was very helpful in my modeling of dynamic systems course where we were taught to graph systems using code. This calculator came in handy for those exams especially. I’m not going to lie, the learning curve is a little steep if you’ve never used a graphing calculator before like I hadn’t when starting with this one. Thankfully once you get the gist of it, it’s pretty straight forward.

We had one for one of my kids and loved it, and expect well love this one just as much. My kids love the fun colors! It works well for their Algebra math lessons.

I use this every day at work, love the rechargeable feature so you’re not constantly going through AAA batteries like in the old days. Love the color screen too. 10/10 would recommend
