Greater than one weekWe put this in our basement door since my cat’s litter is downstairs & it would get a little chilly in the house. So we can keep it closed now & It works great & it looks very cute. Got lots of compliments. Most importantly my cat loves the freedom of going up & down cwhen he wants.

> 3 dayI purchased the XL Version. My product came sealed in a plastic bag with the necessary parts, an instruction sheet and a template. Regarding the instructions: Fairly simple but, there is a problem when it comes to the template and the instructions: The instructions say to cut the template on the line however, the line is 2-4.5mm wide, depending on which template you get. With that thickness, the difference in choosing to cut on the outside edge of the line or the inside of the line, can be a whole that is 4-9mm larger or smaller. A simple, 1mm line would work fine with either template. Now, onto the bigger problem I had with the kit: I opened the Amazon package, setup my door on a pair of sawhorses, opened the product bag, and followed the instructions: 1. Mark Centerline at bottom of door. 2. Cut out the Template (again, inside or outside edge of line? I chose inside edge). 3. Line up the Template and trace the template onto the door. 4. Saw along the line (I used a jigsaw). I then got the parts and immediately saw that my hole was too small. It was blatantly obvious to me that it wasnt because I chose the inside edge but rather, I was provided with the wrong template. Yes, The Kitty Pass folks gave me the regular template rather than the XL template. Fortunately, they provide the template on their website however, there is bottom border for the XL version of the template so, I had to assume that the bottom of the arc was the cutoff point. The bigger challenge was that I couldnt really, line up the new template because the bottom edge of the door in that area was now missing. With the downloaded XL template (I ensured that I printed it at 100%), I cut to the outside edge of the line and, it still didnt fit properly. The sockets that the provided screws thread into, needed another 3mm on each side and, along the top to line up. Eventually, after a couple widening passes, I was able to get the product mounted. If I had received an actual XL Template, I mightve had a better experience.

> 3 dayTotally awesome! The cats love it. Everyone I asked said that the regular size would be large enough but I have to tell you that the XL is not really that huge and was well worth it. Then again, I do have an 11 lb cat and a 17 lb cat. Even my 11 lb cat seems to need to duck to use this. GO BIG ON THIS JUST TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE. The template worked out perfectly with no extra room to worry about. The sticky tape was lethal when it came to sticking. My normal 3M doesnt stick that well. That being said, be careful when installing because if you want to move it, good luck. That was a two person operation to do. I considered painting it because my cats are black and it seemed like the hair is going to be an issue. If I do end up doing that I will update the review.

> 3 daythe included template wasn’t even close to the correct size hole that i needed to cut. Was able to figure it out myself, but could be problematic for someone expecting an easy install.

Greater than one weekI have a small extra bedroom that is a dedicated litter room, which is great except that I had to leave the door cracked all the time to allow my five cats access and it was so annoying. Not to mention, these little stinkers could sometimes close the door on each other, and thats just bad news! So I decided to put this cat door in and it was a great choice! My boyfriend installed it so I cant say how easy that was, but he says it wasnt an issue at all and it only took him roughly an hour, mostly because he decided to hot glue the seam just in case my little brats try to claw the door off. Overall, its a cute way to frame a cat door and Im so happy that I bought it!

> 3 dayThis product has already served its purpose - I have had to open doors for my cats far less frequently than I did before. And it has looked good doing it, but since there are many other competing products at lower price points when I decided to get a second cat door I went with one of those. The materials for this door, are fine but not as premium as I would have expected for the price, the wood is pretty light and flimsy feeling and you will definitely need to screw it into the door if there is going to be any sort of wear and tear on it. The included tape kept it up for about a day, and then it had to be screwed in on both sides. All that said if price isnt your main concern, you have the equipment to properly secure the door, and you like the way it looks then this is a good buy. Otherwise Id expect youll get a similar level of satisfaction from another product for less money.

03-06-2025Super cute cat door, and very easy to install! I had never even used a jigsaw before (or any power saw, for that matter), and was able to cut and install this more quickly than I thought. I ended up using 2 sturdy tv tables as a makeshift sawhorse. Fortunately, the product bezel was large enough to cover my less than perfect cutting in some places. :) Also, the adhesive tape on the bezels is very strong and sticks on the slightest contact, so make sure you have it lined up well before making any contact with the door. Now my kitties can use the laundry room litter box without my having to leave the door open all the time. Both cats ran to check it out and used it immediately. They are both around 10 pounds, and while they could have used the smaller one, Im glad I purchased the XL size as it makes it a bit taller/easier for them.

Greater than one weekMy wife wanted one of these for years, and I just didn’t get around to having to change our door entirely and put in the cat entrance. Sorry I waited! The day this was installed, the cats (3) seem to know it was for them! No hesitation at all! In fact now when we go in to clean the boxes, they beat us in by coming through their entrance!

> 3 dayWe used glue and clamps with a weight on top to get the cat hole to hold tight. I was afraid if it fell apart on my cats they would never go in it. It’s not perfect but once the door is up and the hole is down low no one well ever know. It looks really cute and make my 7 year old laugh all the time.
