I am a fan of the Timbuk2 brand - anything else of theirs I have owned has always exceeded my expectations and this is no different. I am not really a gamer BUT I do travel with a laptop and a secondary portable monitor of the same size, so it is the same as 2 laptops space-wise. It is INCREDIBLY hard to find a bag that accommodates this...and this one does! It is super spacious in all of its compartments. Love that it has 2 water bottle spaces, and they zip up, so you dont have to worry about your bottle sliding out when you put it under a seat etc. Nice! The front pouch compartment is great for things you need to access quickly like sunglasses etc - and its big, so it fits quite a bit of stuff. It also has very comfortable straps that are very sturdy and secure. On the inside, the bag has a lot of little compartments - and a space for you to put a headset specifically - which will also VERY nicely fit a AirPod Max set of headphones. That alone for me is a huge selling point as I like using them when I am going for a longer period of time, but I hate the bulky case that comes with them. In addition to this, many of the compartments are PERFECTLY sized for hard drives and similar peripherals...perfect. If you are a gadget person, youre going to be pleased with this bag. In addition to all of the above, you can also easily put clothes and shoes in here for a couple days trip, especially if you are a minimalist packer. (I am not...but if you are, more power to you) For those who ARE packing ninjas of this type...this could easily be the only bag you need for an overnight or even a weekend trip. And...it does all this while looking super high end and stylish. Its sturdy, a nice design that is water resistant...and the material is not one that will retain that airplane cabin smell like a cloth bag will. Granted, the price point on this bag is a little higher than say, other similar LOOKING bags...but you get what you pay for, and this bag is worth every penny...it checks all the boxes. Highly recommend!

TIMBUK2 x ASTRO Gaming BP35 Backpack, Jet Black Honestly the quality, design, and functionality are all top-notch. This is my daily backpack for my hybrid work schedule. I can fit my 17 Dell workstation with the huge power brick, a 17 portable monitor, and my Razer fullsize keyboard with wrist rest in the back compartment. In the front it has a hanger for my Razer Barracuda headset and a pocket for the detachable mic. There are also pockets for a mouse and extra wires. With all of this in the backpack it is heavy, but it is still very comfortable, and it doesnt even phase this backpack. It has held up well with no rips or fraying. It still looks and performs like brand new.

I travel quite a bit for work and recently upgraded my setup to include a 14” laptop, a 15” portable monitor, and several peripherals. They are all easily accommodated, organized, and accessible. And there is still room for toiletries and a change of clothes. It’s carry on/personal item sized, too. I am really impressed so far. This is my second Timbuk2 pack. The other holds all my work stuff but there’s no extra room and that’s the only reason why I upgraded as the first pack is still in great condition with plenty of life. I’ll try to remember to update this review after some travel.

This is a very good bag -- not just for gamers. It has a fair amount of organization, good for electronics. If you like the full clamshell one big bucket type of bag, this is not it. If you like to divide up your content into smaller compartment this is a good bag. Note that this is a very large backpack. If you carry less, there are smaller and lighter bags out there. Recommended if you typically carry a lot of items and large laptops.

Carries my 16” gaming laptop and 13” work ultrabook and makes it look easy. The organization is awesome with wide pockets that can hold a gaming laptop brick. The headphone clasp is really nice too, since it keeps them toward the top of the bag where I don’t have to worry about them getting crushed as things settle in the bag.

I want to start out with the elephant in the room: this is a very expensive backpack. It is not for everyone. Not everyone should purchase a $200 backpack; most importantly, not everyone needs what this backpack has to offer. That said, because of my specific requirements, I would purchase this backpack again without question. It also looks awesome. Pros: - Dual 16 inch laptop compartments - Matte black exterior and covered water bottle compartments look amazing. - Headphone holder - one of the few that works great with the AirPods Max - Protected Interior compartments are perfect for chargers, cables, battery packs, hard drives, and really whatever gadgets you want to put in them. - Primary compartment is spacious and the zippers go all the way down for easy access. Cons: - Price - $200 is a lot of money for a backpack The main reason to purchase this backpack, and the reason I did, is for the dual 16 inch laptop compartments. I can fit a 16 inch M1 MBP in the back compartment and my Alienware x15r2 fits nicely, albeit a bit more snugly, in the inside compartment. Both laptops are protected and easy to access. This alone cannot be said of many backpacks. I am sure alternatives exist, but this was the best one I found. I also store either a surface pro or an iPad in the tablet compartment. Two very large laptops and a tablet? Not many bags can do that without using third party sleeves. The appearance of this backpack is amazing. The matte black exterior is extremely well done. Compared to my previous backpacks (and most backpacks Ive ever seen) it looks so much more premium, and the zippers blend in almost entirely with the backpack itself. Its a little thing, but it makes a big difference to the overall look of the bag. The water bottle compartments also really add to the appeal. Not something I really noticed before purchasing it, but the fact that water bottles can be basically invisible definitely adds to the aesthetic. They also are quite large. I havent tried it with the laptops inside; I have been able to fit a very large 20oz Yeti bottle in the compartment. When I purchased this backpack, I did not own the AirPods Max. However, shortly after purchasing this backpack I purchased those on a sale. The headphone holder in the front section works with them perfectly. Once again, a minor detail many may never use, but the AirPods Max are notorious for not coming with a case and being extremely difficult to safely travel with because of it. This backpack solves that problem and they are well protected. Obviously the holder would also work with any other brand of headphone, and if left unused, you wont even notice it is there. Now we get to the rest of the pockets. There are many, particularly in the front gadget compartment. These pockets are extremely useful for chargers, cables, ssds, literally whatever you want. I fill them up completely when traveling. Yes, they can be used for things other than tech. But this bag was definitely created with technology enthusiasts in mind; it fits my needs better than any other bag I have seen. Also, the main compartment is fantastic. The zippers go all the way down which allows for really quick loading and unloading. It also allows you to fit more than you otherwise would have. Its a big backpack, for sure. However, it does not look giant. In fact, compared to my previous backpack, a pretty standard size, it looks smaller. Yes, it is taller, but it is also not as wide, while having far greater utility. The materials on offer here also seem very durable and high quality. I have used it a good deal since I bought it and it has held up great. I have owned a messenger bag from Timbuk2 for years and loved it. The high quality materials really made it stand out, and believe me, I put as much in it as was humanly possible many times. So I have confidence in the longevity of this bag. Most of the other reviewers here received a backpack for free; I did not. I was looking for a backpack for college that could comfortably fit two 16 inch laptops. This bag does. The rest of the features and appearance were exactly what I wanted, even if they were not a prerequisite. Could I have bought a cheaper bag and stuck a laptop sleeve inside? Sure, but it would have been more cumbersome, and I would be missing out on the many things that make this bag perfect for a tech enthusiast such as myself. That said, for most people, if you do not need the two laptop compartments, you can find cheaper bags that will fit your needs. If, however, you are like me and need the dual compartments, or maybe you love the aesthetic or features and have money to spare, this is the best backpack I have ever seen, bar none.

You’ve seen the reviews and people say it’s good for tech. It’s tough to justify this back pack when it comes to general travel. I am trying to pack an extra pair of shoes, swim trunks, a few shirts and a tablet along with toiletries and all charging cables. Everything you would need for a 3 -4 day trip. But it’s tough to find a spot for everything but my Samsung Note S8+. Shoes don’t have a great spot. Clothes feels awkward in ways. You can make it work just know when you spend $200 for this, it is the most specific backpack you’ll ever buy.

7-month Followup I have gone from carrying one laptop (Yoga 9i) and an 11 tablet to adding a Zephyrus G14. I daily carry all three devices along with chargers, cables, IEMs, etc. The backpack never disappoints. I did not fully realize how much this thing can carry; I am so thankful and appreciative of its design. The straps are very solid; I feel confident quickly grabbing its now considerable bulk. It holds its shape well and it turning out to be very durable. One feature I did not cover in my original review: the front of the three large compartments has a water tight (resistant) zipper. I do not slog around in pouring rain, but I like the idea that I have to option to keep sensitive items dry. The external panels are quite unlike any I have ever seen; they are very water resistant as well. The sting of the cost is gone - now all I think about is how well this backpack is designed and how well it is performing. Very strong positive recommendation. 2-month review: I am not a gamer (much), but I am an IT professional. I carry at least one laptop, a tablet, and numerous chargers, cords, and accessories. One feature I am very pleased with is the protection for the main laptop pocket. The pocket is shaped and stitched so the the laptop is held at least an inch above the floor of the backpack, sort of a hammock towards the bottom. When you sit it down less than gently, the corners and edge of laptop never come close to contacting the hard surface. This is much appreciated for my $2k+ laptop. The padding it thoughtfully placed and where you need it. The large internal pockets are some kind of stretchy Lycra that is soft and strong, even when stretched out. I have a few accessory bags that sit in the bottom. The pockets hold other accessory cases above the lower ones, so the backpack closes easily. It is lame to say that there is a place for everything I use, but it is so. The front pocket having a magnetic closure is better than I could have imagined. I have a small Remove Before Flight streamer on my keys; I put the keys securely in the pocket with the streamer hanging out. When I need my keys, I just tug - open & close with no fuss. It is small features like this that all add up to this being the absolute best backpack I have ever used. The straps are very comfortably padded as well. I always carry it by one strap over my shoulder, thumb around front strap, and elbow holding backpack behind me. It is so much more comfortable than my old messenger bag (by the same manufacturer - great unit too) which constantly slid off my shoulder. One last praise - there are two zippered outside pockets - one for my umbrella and one for my UA stainless insulated water bottle. This is so much better than the mesh pockets of other bags. It looks nicer and is more secure. I am very happy with this backpack.

Lightweight easy to carry around doesnt take up a whole lot of space. Charges fairly quick. I would recommend to any gamer.
