I got exactly what I was expecting! It was super easy to install and instantly gave my computer the boost in performance I was looking for. I also upgraded my HD to a SSD and combined, theyve made my computer feel brand new. I probably could have just upgraded to the 8GB and seen a significant performance bump (originally I only had 4) but I went with 16GB so that I wouldnt have to upgrade for just a little bit longer.

Honestly, you dont need name brand RAM. That being said, this is a Hynix brand by timetec so its comparable to your OEM RAM type when you purchased you macbook pro. For $89.99 plus tax, this was a deal! As RAM is RAM, as long as the qualifications are met, you dont need to pay more as it offers the same, if not, better performance than the more expensive ones. Installing it in Macbook Pro mid 2012 was a snap, I didnt even need to remove the battery connection. Just discharge your static electricity by touching a metal frame, and blow the dust off your components while its still open. Turning on the macbook pro, I verified that it had 16 gb RAM total. I then performed a Memtest on the RAM (took me 30 minutes) but it verified that the RAM was in good working order and nothings wrong with it. And to top it all off, the product package says MADE IN USA. Other pricey rams are made in China (assembled in USA) or Taiwan or Philippines, but not this one. Im surprised this RAM by TimeTec doesnt get more reviews compared to other companies.
