> 24 hour7 year old MacBook Air was almost out of original 128GB SSD disk space. We didnt need any more power as it is mainly used for email, web browsing and solitaire, so no need for newer laptop. Found this 250 Gb SSD and thought it would do the trick since it took 7 years to max out the original 128. Installation is easy however no tools provided. Luckily I had tools from a recent battery replacement, they are very small torx screws on case. The only problem is with any disk replacement, the license code to Windows Office does not restore from backup so either you have to reenter (assuming you still have that after 7 years, I didnt) or you buy a newer license. Okay the Office 3013 I had was out of support anyway, so time to update.

> 24 hourFirst thing I noticed when removing this drive from its box, was the fact it was super light, which is usually one big red flag. But I gave it a chance and tested it anyway. It showed up on Windows 11 with the correct size being reported (1TB). However, when I started copying data to the drive, thats where the fun started. Constant disconnections, either using its own USB-C to USB cable or with its included USB-C adapter. No matter which port on my (brand new gen 3) laptop I used, the drive disconnected. To make the test fair (you never know, maybe my brand new laptop needed some new drivers or something), I also tested it on my 2 year old desktop computer. Same results. I wasnt even able to run a write/read speed test, as the drive disconnected before the test completed. Also, brand new out of the box, it already showed some signs of being used, with data already being transferred to it, and some power on count registered too. I suppose I got a return from someone else who also experienced the same issue with this drive I did. On top of that, the data I managed to transfer to this drive before it disconnect was corrupted and thus unreadable. Drive returned right away. Be safe and stick to known brand instead.

> 24 hourThis is exactly what it says it is. A 256gb external SSD, it’s made out of a nice aluminum material that feels almost like a MacBook! It feels great and looks super high quality. For the price it’s definitely worth it. Works like a charm and has great read/ write speeds.

> 24 hourThis is a good portable SSD but the main issue Ive been experiencing is while its connected to my PC it would randomly disconnect and reconnect making the folder for it open and cover what Im doing making it annoying. Other than that it functions how you would expect a portable SSD to with no major issues.
