> 3 dayMUST create and startup (using option key) from a boot-able macOS USB installer (eg:High Sierra). Otherwise diskutil or terminal will not see the pcie nvme ssd. Will not be seen if placed in ext caddy either. I installed 1TB PCIe NVMe in mac book pro 15inch mid 2014 using external USB bootable drive with High Sierra installer then when complete using CMD+Option+R, installed Big Sur from apple servers via internet. I thought ssd was defective and asked for return but now i dont need to exchange.

> 3 dayUPDATE (October 4th, 2018): Although I was probably unlucky and received a bad module, I would be happy to purchase from Timetec again as they do honor their lifetime guarantee and their customer service is top notch (they deserve 5 stars but I am still giving the product 3 as mine was defective and couldnt really test it long term. During the 12 days it did work my computer felt brand new). After my module started failing I got in touch with them (couldnt return through Amazon because I live abroad and wouldnt make meet the 30-day return window). They took a bit to reply but when they did they immediately offered to send a new module first and then I could return the defective one or simply return the defective one for a refund. Unfortunately, because I live abroad a replacement was harder to arrange, so they told me that as soon as I had someone traveling to the US I could request a label and return it, which I did and received the refund immediately. I really appreciate the constant communication from the team. Thank you! Original review from July 13th, 2018 I had previously upgraded my Early 2011 MacBook Pro (13 inch) from 4GB to 8GB and it was working fine, but after a few years I figured it was time to upgrade to 16GB. Installed it on June 30th and it worked fine for the first 12 days. Last night my computer started lagging, but thought it was just a temporary issue as I was using multiple programs. I would not have suspected RAM, except for the fact that I decided to reboot the computer and now it is beeping during start up. Switched back to my old ram and no more beeps. I chose this brand instead of the previous one because a very high percentage of reviews for this product were positive, and it was listed a compatible with my computer. Unfortunately the product didnt work. The worse part is that I lost several files in the process.

> 3 dayMy mid 2011 iMac has been running slow and overheating and decided to give it a decent upgrade after getting me through 4 years of college. As a start I decided to get the 8gb ram package. You unscrew the 3 Phillips screws at the bottom and you insert the ram cards in. After doing this I realized that I never cleaned my Mac so I decided to buy a air can to remove all dirt. I’ve decided to open my Mac and also clean the dirt on the fans. After cleaning I put everything back together and turned on my Mac and it turned on in less than a minute which before this modification it was like 3 minutes. I tried clicking on applications and wow it’s fast compared to before. I can run multiple applications at the same time without any problems like any lagg. I remember clicking on a application multiple times so that it can open up faster, I don’t think it worked but now with this ram upgrade they open up real fast. I also seen it downloads music fairly fast. I have nothing but positive comments for this. I recommend every Mac user to do it it’s fairly easy that anyone can do it. I got an Samsung SSD on its way to help improve how fast it can run and reduce heat output. Happy that it will run just like a new 2020 computer.

Greater than one weekI purchased 16G (2x8G) for about $52, cheaper than I’d seen on other websites and around Amazon. The envelope arrived next day Prime and I installed when I got home from work. The install was performed on a mid-2011 iMac 27” I received for free (thinking it was newer - yikes lol). Anyways it was a straightforward install, you can find videos online, but I just used an #2 Philips screwdriver to expose the RAM slots. I popped the cards in and sealed the machine. The extra RAM allows me to use the computer to play Netflix and some video games. Not a bad investment for a “leisure” machine. I’ll probably use it for a year or so until I’m ready to upgrade to the latest iMac.

> 3 dayI purchased this set for a MID 2010 27 IMAC with i7 2.93 ghz processor. If you check Apples website, it will tell you that these iMacs are upgradeable to only 16GB Ram (4GBx4slots) But an extensive research I have done shown me that 27 iMac (Mid 2010) models with the i7 processor can actually work with 32gb Ram (8GBx4slots) instead of 16gb. So I decided to get this set 8gbx4 as it was matching all the other requirements of Apple. The rams were recognized by the system as soon as I turned on the computer, and they did make a big difference, upgrading from 8gb to 32 GB. I do stock trading so I have several apps open at the same time, such as discord, TDA Think or Swim, Webull, Youtube and more, all at the same time and the rams handle all that with absolutely no problem. It has been almost a week, but so far, I am very happy. I also exchanged the HD withSAMSUNG 870 EVO 250GB 2.5 Inch SATA III Internal SSD (MZ-77E250B/AM) and together with the ram update, they are working miracles.

> 3 dayMY wife has had her MAC since 2011. I noticed it was slow - checked the memory and saw that it had only 4 GB. Im a Windows 10 guy so I went online to find out the inner workings of her MAC. Came across some info that said the PC could handle double the memory stated by Apple. Her MAC 12,1 2011 was supposed to handle only 16 GB. I ordered the Timetec ram (two 8 GB sticks) - installed it in her MAC and now she has 20GB of ram (the 4 that came with the MAC plus the 16 I ordered) Shes so happy I think Ill replace the original 4 GB with two more 8GB sticks at a later date. Installing the RAM is easy with the MAC so dont let it put you off adding more RAM. If a 75 year old senior citizen can do it, so can you. Again, my wife is happy so Im over the moon. Will buy again.
