It says water resistance, not sure if it is because I didnt want to even try if it is. I love the hard edges on the case so that your laptop, the reason I say this because I had an iPad case that did not have this and while it moved around in my bag I would see slight scratches on the edges of my iPad, so Im really glad this one has that feature in it. Also, it is just the perfect fit for my laptop.
