I bought this projector on Black friday for around $210 dollars. Being my first projector, i cant really compare its performance to others. All i know is that in a low light to black room, the picture is really impressive! Really good color & brightness. I really love watching movies on the toptro! I was given an 85 elite pull down screen as a gift. (which fits my space perfectly!) That being said, this projector is absolutely designed for a 120 screen. There is a faint light bleed all around the screen. I can only asume that this is from using the digital zoom to shrink th image to 76%. (As seen in photos) Not a deal breaker, as this light bleed is really only visible in a black room. Someday i may get the 120 screen & completely eliminate this slight annoyance. I hooked up a new 4k roku stick which works great. My only gripe is the bluetooth. It works, but the volume is really, really low. Almost maddeningly inadequate! I attached the audio out port too a sound bar. Better, but still too quiet for my taste. Finally settled on running a 35 hdmi to my Onkyo receiver. Now its amazing! Giant screen & Atmos sound! Other than the bluetooth issues, this is a 5 star product. Until then, i have to give it 4. BT was one of its biggest selling points for me... Perhaps a software update will fix the bluetooth issues? Ill happily update my review if this gets a fix!

Ok so I legitimately never leave reviews, but as I sit here and watch the office on my new projector, I cant help but smile. About 4 years ago, I spent $175 on a projector that at the time was very very good. Upgrading to this now (despite it being only $150 with a coupon), was the best decision Ive made in a while. The 4D keystone is great, and my projector FINALLY fits every corner of my screen perfectly. The video quality is decently more crisp, and the colors are just brighter and sharper. My brother said to me, your old projector was fine and all, but now this legitimately looks like a TV. For $150, I do not think you can beat this. Even at $225-275 Id probably be very happy with the purchase.

Weve been using this for a week. It has taken this time to fully appreciate the capabilities and intricacies of this projector. Looks well constructed. The picture quality is really impressive, especially when using the picture mode is changed to Vivid, done via a settings button on the remote. The edges are crisp; accurate and bright colour rendition; no lag when watching action clips. Brightness is adequate, and perfect in total dark, we often watch with a bedside light on and its fine. The 4 point keystone is fantastic for setting up an off centre projector position or when watching from an angle the image can be squared up perfectly. Manual focus wheel is accurate and easy to use and the digital zoom (50% to 100%) included in the settings menu is really useful. Using the settings menu we had issued downloading the latest firmware (very slow download then stopped) - emailed customer service and they responded within 24 hours with a link to download the update - Seems like excellent customer service. Prior to updating the firmware we also had issued with my bluetooth headphones and speaker not playing sound even though paired and connected. After the firmware update this is fixed fixed. The usability with a Fire Stick is fantastic, the only issue is when connecting a speaker via bluetooth the sound properties in the Netflix menu must be changed to ordinary as it cannot play 5.1 - This is annoying as must be changed each time something is played, however, this is a Netflix issue rather than the projector. Printed instructions are useful for initial set up. Connected to home WIFI without any issues and appears to have reasonably strong WIFI. Internal speaker is adequate but could be better (but considering the price and other functions its fine). In summary a great piece of kit, my 55 inch LG OLED is now collecting dust.

For the price its a good projector. The colors dont look as vibrant as youd probably like and theres no option to adjust the hue, which is irritating but, the speakers are loud and the picture is good. If you have a 100 inch screen its important that you have the projector no more than 8-9 ft away for a clean picture, the further back at that size the picture quality downgrades when you zoom in to fit the screen. The 4 point keystone is awesome and at the proper distance the picture looks nice and clear. The speakers are loud but, the fan can be a little distracting because it is a bit loud. Id suggest ceiling mounting if you are in a bigger room and buying a soundbar. I just used my jbl flip 4 until I get my soundbar and that works fine but, I noticed the audio and visuals do not sync up perfectly, there was a bit of lag. Button input lags as well. The darker the room the better, its okay to have a lamp on when viewing but, anything brighter then youre risking not being able to view the picture very much. If youre looking for a decent projector for this price then I do recommend this product. The bag it comes with is a very nice touch. I thought it was important to point out its faults but, I still say this is a good projector and youll still be the envy of your friends on fight night.

After looking through quite a few projectors that fit my criteria on Amazon a while ago, I picked up a projector that seemed to fit the bill. Unfortunately, it was a bit borderline - yellow tint to image, brightness was so-so, it was louder than Id have liked, and it had some coil whine/bluetooth issues. I hit the search again, narrowed the other two options to this projector (Toptro X1) and another one, and gave the Toptro a shot. The difference was shocking, rather than stunning. The picture quality difference was enormous... and not in a good way. The image was tremendously washed out, unable to produce deep colors of any variety, and any attempts to remedy that were ultimately in vain. No matter how hard I tried to work with the picture adjustment settings available, the results were at best mediocre, which is unfortunately an improvement from terrible. A lot of the customer images show very dark, rich colors, which makes me wonder if there are multiple versions of this projector, with some sporting a much lower color depth. The way I would describe the colors post-adjustment would be cheap 2008-era LCD TV and pre-adjustment as somehow worse than an older TN ThinkPad panel. If youve had the misfortune of using a T420 or similar without an IPS screen, you know how awful that is. Its bad. The picture was very bright relative to the other projector - so, if thats specifically what you need, or you intend to use this projector at a longer distance, then that might be a big plus. The image itself was also much smaller (maybe... 30% smaller overall?) than the other projector, which likely contributes to the perceived brightness difference. Seems a bit odd to push for a smaller default picture size on a projector with digital zoom available. I suspect that push for brightness is a big part of why the image is so washed out; doing dark colors and bright colors simultaneously and doing both well is difficult by default and the major strength of OLED panels. Sharpness suffered as well. The projector got sharp-ish, but really not anywhere near as sharp as a 1080p projector should be at the distance I tested it at (roughly 10 feet). Possibly worse than the image quality was the noise the projector put out. This projector is LOUD. I thought the other was loud, but I gained an appreciation for its noise level after using the Toptro projector. The Toptro projectors operating noise level is on the low end of a hair drier. Like, take your average hair dryer, put it on low, and maybe shave two or three decibels off of it. It is genuinely that loud, and thats what it sounds like as well. Bonus points - if you remove the intake filter, youll notice that immediately behind it are several large plastic pieces of the internals which nearly completely block the intake vent. What on earth were they thinking? Who engineered this? I didnt even bother testing bluetooth. The other issues were too much to ignore. So, in short: tremendously bad color depth and noise signature comparable to the low setting on a hair dryer. Unless you really, specifically, absolutely need as much brightness as you can get in a projector at this price, I cant see any reason to bother with this unit.

I have been in the market for a budget projector for a while now, something to use here and there but not just trying to find the cheapest option because I know you get what you pay for. Well i am glad that I landed on the Toptro because so far this one has been amazing and exceeding my expectations! I plan to use this for outdoor movie parties with the friends but to test it out, i set it up indoors and projected it onto the wall and wow does it look great! I hooked my fire stick up to it which had the added bonus of being able to be powered through one of the onboard USB slots, not sure if that was mentioned anywhere but that is awesome for less cable clutter or needing addtional outlets. While the sound coming out of the projector itself is definitely not terrible, it was easy to hook an external speaker up through the headphone jack. Definitely look at the picture and audio settings to dial everything in because it will definitely improve the experience. it was also super easy to mirrocast from my phone for anyone who is interested in that feature. Obviously I still need to try it outside for the full experience but based off what I have seen so far I think its going to work perfectly for what we need! if you are in the market for an affordable projector option that has great picture and great features...this is the one!!

This projector has some great features at this price point, but it is lacking in a couple of key areas that could be a deal breaker for some. PROS: *4P/4D electronic keystone feature + zoom. If you have ever spent time trying to calibrate the shape of the image to fit your screen perfectly (especially when both the angle of the screen and the projector isn’t optimum), then this solves that issue beautifully and your wont want to go back to regular mechanical 4D keystone again. Plus these parameters can all be controlled from the remote so you don’t have to fiddle with control wheels manually on the top of the projector. *Built in speakers offer relatively high volume levels and sound acceptable *Built in power supply so (no power brick to deal with!) *Compact size *Useful carrying Case *Image is bright CONS: *The first TOPTRO X1 I ordered would not power on. The lens would flash on for a millisecond when you hit the power button and the status light would flash blue but then it would turn off immediately and the status light would turn red. Ordered an exchange through Amazon Prime and it powered on as it should. *Headphone/aux output pre-amp is not powerful enough to sufficiently drive a set of headphones or an external powered speaker. The volume is too low even when both the projector and external powered speaker/headphones levels are at maximum. I have found this to be an issue with projectors at this price point. *Bluetooth audio levels are good, but depending upon the Bluetooth speaker youre using, the audio is anywhere from 0.250 to .0750s out of sync with the video. If you want to use an external Bluetooth speaker and have it be in sync with the video, you will need to pair it with your streaming device (such as in my case the Amazon Fire TV Stick) and bypass the Bluetooth on the projector or just live with the audio from the built in projector speakers. This also seems to be an issue with projectors at this price point. *Issues when connecting external USB drives. Two out of four drives USB thumb drives I tested would were not recognized and would not mount even when formatted the same (ref. email to support below) . GENERAL OBSERVATION Some subjective observations with respect to image quality compared to other projectors I have tested at this price point (such as the Fangor F-402 and the DR. J Professional AK-30), the overall image appears brighter on the TOPTRO X1, but does not seem as sharp. In addition, the fan on TOPTRO is on the noisier side (certainly compared to the Fangor) but this likely won’t be an issue for most people (especially if you have the projector mounted on the ceiling). I sent (2) emails (below) directly to service at Toptro over a week ago and they didn’t respond to either of them, so support so far seems lacking. The same projector hardware seems to be marketed under different brands (such as the WiMiUS K1, YABER V6) so you might have better support with a different brand (although my guess is all support is centralized and goes to the same place). I’ll likely keep the projector for the 4P/4D zoom feature given I have found a work around for using external speakers by pairing them via Bluetooth with my streaming device and bypassing the projector. However, I’m knocking off one star for the CONS listed and another for the lack of response to my emails regarding the technical issues I experienced. EMAILS TO SUPPORT From: Subject: X1 Projector Aux output volume low & Bluetooth out of sync Date: December 2, 2020 at 10:47:46 AM PST To: When transmitting audio via Bluetooth the audio is between 0.650 and 0.757s out of sync with the video (depending on the speaker used). Please advise Bluetooth chip and version used in your projector and if there is a a way to compensate for the sync issue (have tried lip sync tuning” in the Amazon FireStick settings but is cannot be calibrated precisely enough to correct the issue), In addition, the preamp used on the mini headphone output is insufficient to drive an external powered speaker (or headphones) and the resulting volume is low even when at full volume on projector and external speaker. Is there anything that can be done to correct this as currently the only option is to use this projector with internal speakers only? From: Subject: Re: X1 Projector will not power on Date: December 1, 2020 at 6:00:28 PM PST To: The replacement projector I received today powers. I connected a Samsung EVO 860 1TB SSD drive to the USB port but the projector did not mount the drive or recognize it and displayed “insert USB Drive” as if no drive was connected (the drive power light was on). The drive is formatted FAT32 and contains .mp4 video files. If I reformat this drive will the projector recognize it? If so, how should I format the SSD drive ( I want to be able to stream video files from this drive). Also, when streaming video files from a USB drive while streaming audio to external Bluetooth speakers is there a way to adjust audio so it is in sync with video using the projectors built in video player (as you can with the Amazon FireStick and other streaming devices)?”

Great projector… This is my first LCD projector, though I have owned several DLP Optoma Projectors previously. I wanted something for my bedroom as it’s hard to see my 50” wall-mounted television as I get older without wearing my glasses. I mounted the Tropro X1 directly over my headboard on the 9-foot height ceiling and, for now, projecting onto an off-white semi-textured wall at the end of my bed, which has a throw distance of 9.5 feet. Roughly an 88-inch diagonal picture. I am VERY impressed with the feature the X1 presents with. From being able to flip the image for ceiling mounting, the simple and accurate Keystone Correction feature, the brightness AND contrast of the image, and the dual side-facing speakers stereo sound loudness AND clarity are impressive. All more than I was expecting both quality-wise and ease of setup and use. The remote is fully featured though I have purchased the RM4 Mini S BroadLink Smart IR Remote Control Hub on Amazon and manually configured the X1 remote (easy process); therefore, I have full control from my cell phone, along with all my other remotes, in a once convenient place. I always lose my remotes but NEVER my phone. The fan isn’t noticeable to me when a show is playing. I haven’t used Bluetooth nor USB ports. Configured easily to my WiFi and reconnects each time the projector is powered up. Initially did not get sound when playing Amazon Prime (via the HDMI cable from my Nvidia Shield Pro set-top box. I turned off “DOLBY” from the set-top box (I did not adjust any projector settings), and all was good. Someday, I may get a projector screen, but even in daylight with mini blinds partly open, the image is pretty decent. I bought the VANKYO Projector Ceiling Mount with Adjustable Angle & Extending Arms, Projector Mount Bracket from Amazon for ceiling mounting – it’s a FOUR point ceiling mount. It works great to tilt and angle the X1. I first tried a single-point wall mount device, but even though the X1 is lightweight, the mount failed to hold the projector properly. Great carrying case too. I will be buying more of these soon.
