Im not really sure the difference between the outside glass plane and the digitizer. The outside panel that protects the inner workings of the iPad broke, it cracked, I taped it then this arrived. I put it together after filing down the corner of iPad that was bend so that this new glass panel would not break so easily because it will be flush, lay inside the aluminum iPad casing. (I also used a touch of cement, dries clear.) The amazon package came with some tools I used and an extra glass panel or maybe its acrylic not sure and Im not sure what to use it for, maybe its a protective screen cover but it seems awfully thick to be this, its like three thirty seconds...Im not sure. Ill reread the description and also get out the measuring tape for this panel. But the replacement screen had the home screen and a cable that was easy enough to attach once I removed the inner panel, which I thought was called a digitizer but I dont know.

The quality of the screen is super bad that it didn’t even survive for 6 months. I replaced my iPad screen 5-6 months ago and put it away from reach of kids, because I hardly use it. 2 days ago when I picked up my iPad for something to do, it had a crack close to home button. It might be possible that it already had a small crack when I got it and I didn’t pay attention during installation and it expanded overtime. But I definitely would not suggest buying it. Thanks
