Its both or either. This is great for those times when you have too much stuff for one bag, but dont want to pay an excess baggage fee. Its compact enough that you dont feel guilty, and it still fits in the overhead compartment on the plane. With all the access and pockets you can get your needfuls during the flight, while still having the rest packed and tucked safely away.

This bag is well designed and serves well as the perfect personal bag to bring in addition to your standard carry-on bag or simply by itself. There is an area for clothing with straps to keep everything in place. You can also store your power bank here and connect it via the supplied USB cable which then connects to the port conveniently located on the outside of the case for easy connection of any device that needs charging. There are multiple pockets for organization, a laptop/tablet pocket; a place for everything. There is even shoulder and lumbar support built into the bag. I wouldn’t be surprised if this bag were designed by someone who travels frequently. It is durable and seems like it will last a while.

Unbelievable amount of space in this backpack, maybe the most compartments Ive seen in a bag this size. There are so many wide open compartments, so many zippers and buckles, the bag has endless possibilities. Im very impressed at the overall bag, but especially how expandable and versatile it is. It has a carry loop on the top and the side, has a USB cord extension port for charging your phone off a power brick or even your sleeping laptop as it sits in the bag. I could see utilizing it for laptops, multiple tablets, headphones, portable gaming consoles, and still having room for a shirt or light jacket. Also, there is a zipper that does a double loop around the bag, expanding it massively, really allowing you to use it as a small suitcase that I could easily see fitting enough clothes for a weekend trip, along with toothbrush, shampoo, cosmetics etc. Overall, pretty impressed with this backpack, tons of compartments and there is cushioning on the portion that touches your back, along with a cross-body strap for securing it tightly if you went on a hike or something. Highly recommend this backpack.

This backpack is perfect to use as a carry on for short trips. You can fit a few days worth of clothes in it along with a laptop. I love that there is a charging port and water bottle holder too.

There is a neat feature on this backpack I have not seen before. You can plug your laptop or tablet to the integrated usb connection inside the backpack (or use an adapter over the usb) and then plug a power source onto the outside of the backpack, also an integrated feature. This way you can keep your valuable electronics safe inside the backpack at, for example, an airport while also charging it. I tested the charging and the heat inside the backpack dissipates pretty well. In my test I did not think my laptop ended up any hotter than it would normally get while charging. I doubt a tablet will get very hot at all. Otherwise the backpack is what one would expect. The padding is probably lighter than you might see in other backpacks but I think its perfectly fine. The zippers and straps are of good quality. And the backpack sits comfortably shoulders and back.

Theres one thing I dont like to do is checking in bags at the airport. Instead, I try to get away as much as possible by bringing a backpack, small luggage and another small duffel bag. The backpack is one item you try to push the boundaries with. Its on your back so a little less noticeable unlike overstuffed suitcases. This holds almost as much as my wheeled suitcase. Its got pockets everywhere so you can isolate all the items. Theres even a USB extension cable that goes from inside the bag and connects to a USB port on the side of the bag - very very cool. Theres some padding in the right places for comfort but not overly bulky. A very reasonable price for something so versatile

I ordered this 40L travel backpack because my old computer bag is worn out and I am tired of the rolling suitcase form factor. The backpack arrived ahead of schedule and was well packaged. My first impression upon unboxing it was that is very sturdy. It is spacious enough to hold my computer (15 notebook) and all of its accessories plus about five days worth of clothing. It will easily fit into an airline overhead bin and under seat storage spaces. It has many convenience/comfort features such as well-placed pockets, padded straps, padding built into the back panel, a luggage strap (to hold it onto a rolling suitcase) and a water bottle pocket. Where this backpack excels though, is in providing a charging port built into the side. This allows me to use my battery bank to charge my phone on the go without having to open up the bag and get the battery out. I just need to plug in the phone on the outside and it charges. It also has a pass-through port to allow a second charge cable to pass through to the outside of the backpack. That is a travel game changer IMO... Things I really like about this backpack: - It is sturdy and well-made but also light - It is large enough to hold my computer and five days of clothing but small enough to be a carry on - The integrated charging port is a game changer Things that could be better: - I cant think of any yet I will update this review after I have had a chance to use the bag a few times.

I travel from time to time with my job for a couple of days. This is a nice carry-on backpack. I can pack my laptop and some clothes in the back. Lots of storage, I have forgotten where I put some stuff sometimes. Its a built-in USB port for a Battery pack, ( Battery pack not included). It fit great on my shoulder and back. The straps seem like great quality.
