I live in a tropical area so this umbrella is a daily necessity!

Did a heat test on a 95° day. From underneath the UV Blocker temp was 105° the standard black Umbrella was 142° these temperatures were read after Umbrellas sat in sun for 15 minutes.

This UV umbrella really does provide more sun protection that an ordinary umbrella. The construction is definitely quality. It opens and closes without any issues. I would purchase it again if needed, highly recommend.
