> 24 hour2 issues with this tool. First is how incredibly small it is. It wouldn’t take much at all to lose or misplace this item. Smallest reveal gauge I’ve seen in 20 years as a carpenter. Secondly is how micro the pencil holes are. Need to reshapen your No. 2 pencil over and over to consistently fit in the holes.

> 24 hourI was given one of these by my uncle who is a finish carpenter as he was teaching me some tricks of the trade. I had since lost it, and needed one of the for cabinets that I was rebuilding the carcass for. I got the knockoff and was disappointed as it was inaccurate, also the bubble level was completely useless for a device that spans this distance (a level is only accurate across a span of its length, hence why you see really long expensive levels), so I tested it against a known accurate stabila level on a known machined level surface and the knock off errantly showed it being out of level- which means the bubble was not embedded straight in the tool- so a true example of Chinese craftsmanship. I replaced it with the genuine article from a local woodworking shop and voila, back in action. People criticizing the hole size not fitting carpenters pencils- you should not be using a thick pencil for finish work. for truly accurate/precise finish work we use marking knives, for trim work that will be painted, a mechanical pencil is ideal for marking finish materials that will be sanded and painted as the end product. Fantastic tool to have in your bag for marking trims of all kinds. Good luck on your builds and God bless.

> 24 hourThis would be a great product. But not practical for any type of carpentry. You can only use it for .3mm lead according to the company. So a true worker that Does carry around a carpenters pencil or something close to it, this product just does not work. The holes are all different sizes. Not worth the $16. I’ll stick to a tape measure
