18-11-2024Not as advertised. Ended up hiring a service because our break was approximately 300 feet from house. The range advertised (2400 ft) is grossly overstated; it was sensitive to a 4 inch deep wire only within 90 feet of home (origin of box).

> 3 dayFollowed the directions in the manual, found the cut wire in 5 minutes. Fixed and lights up and going in less than 20 mins. Best thing I have bought in a long time. Saved me 150.00 for a guy to come out and find the cut wire.

Greater than one weekI have purchased two other devices to track down dog fence problems and they have failed. This product worked. It was easy to use and made finding the break in my line easy.

> 3 dayAfter 24 years of service our underground dog wire for electronic fence had to be replaced. There was one section underneath the driveway that had to be spliced, as it was blacktopped after the fence was put in. Initially we could not find it but with the help of this product we did. My husband said it was worth purchasing it for this alone. Im sure there are many other applications also.

> 3 dayI used this to find a break I had in my robot mower perimeter wire. It made the job quick ans easy. Less than 5 minutes to locate and repair the wire. Before I had to follow the wire around and look for where the wire was broken, sometimes difficult to locte. Now it is easy.

> 3 dayWe have an invisible fence for our dogs around our 4.5 acre property. The loop detector was showing a broken wire, so I bought this to trace the break. The perimeter of the property is around 2000 feet, so I thought this would be the ticket to find where the break was located. The good news: I found the break. The bad news: the distance this will give a clear signal is around 700 feet. After that, the signal is too faint to detect. I was able to finds the original splices in the wire and dig them up to attach the transmitter. That allowed me to continue tracing until the break was found. For most properties, this would probably work great. For larger properties, you will not be able to attach at the source and trace the whole length.

> 3 dayThis was well worth buying. I used it to find multiple breaks in my invisible dog fence. It doesn’t point you to the exact spot of the break, but the noise gets very weak and dies a couple of yards before the break. Good enough to help you find the line and then carefully dig along it until you find where it broke. I have 15 acres, and the signal got very weak the further along I went, but it almost made it half of the perimeter. Very pleased. I also liked that this model didn’t have the rechargeable battery. I hope I won’t need it again for a while, and a rechargeable battery could be useless after a couple of years with no charging.
