> 3 dayNot as advertised. Ended up hiring a service because our break was approximately 300 feet from house. The range advertised (2400 ft) is grossly overstated; it was sensitive to a 4 inch deep wire only within 90 feet of home (origin of box).

> 3 dayWe have an invisible fence for our dogs around our 4.5 acre property. The loop detector was showing a broken wire, so I bought this to trace the break. The perimeter of the property is around 2000 feet, so I thought this would be the ticket to find where the break was located. The good news: I found the break. The bad news: the distance this will give a clear signal is around 700 feet. After that, the signal is too faint to detect. I was able to finds the original splices in the wire and dig them up to attach the transmitter. That allowed me to continue tracing until the break was found. For most properties, this would probably work great. For larger properties, you will not be able to attach at the source and trace the whole length.

> 3 dayWe found the break in the invisible fence and fixed it ourselves. The fence company could not give us a date to check it for over a month. Their loss.

Greater than one weekLocating under ground dog fence. Cheap design with transmitter, wire and sensor that pendulums across ground breaks. Solder eventually separates. Wand style would be more durable.

> 3 dayWe had a break in the invisible fence for our dogs and would have cost about $150.00 to have repaired. I went on line and purchased the wire locator and was able to find and repair the broken line. Saved us nearly $100.00.

> 3 dayI have purchased two other devices to track down dog fence problems and they have failed. This product worked. It was easy to use and made finding the break in my line easy.

> 3 dayOur Invisible Fence stopped working, and after testing the loop circuitry on the transmitter, it did seem to be the wire. We went around the property (over an acre and a half) over lawn, through trees and brush (yuck) a couple times. We did find the trouble spot, and why it took a couple times was because the wire wasnt completely broken, just damaged and frayed (someone had done a really lousy patch job at one point) so there was still a weak signal going through but not enough to make the transmitter/collar work. The locater didnt go silent, but did dip way down in volume over that spot - noticable if you go very slowly. I would think if there was a clean break it would be way easier to find the spot. This did the trick though - worked as it should and saved us a fortune having the professionals come to find the problem.
