Greater than one weekThis was purchased to replace a unit that was in poor condition. I really like this unit as it works great,as well as the multicolored display. It is easy to read in day light or night time. The readout is clear and easy to read. It transmits clear and receives strong signals with ease. The weather bands are useful in case of rain or snow and allows time to plan accordingly. Its well worth the money, and I would recommend it to anyone needing a new radio.

> 3 dayWe bought two of these in March of 2019. Out of the box the displays were way to dim to be readable in normal daylight conditions. One of the two has had the display fail all for a small corner. These units have been well cared for and theres no reason a cb should have this sort of issue. Its not like we are launching the space shuttle here. Its just a radio. The same unit that has no display just recently stopped transmitting and now only receives. Needless, to say I am shopping for a replacement and I wont wast money on another Uniden product.

> 3 dayFirst one I got was DOA. It would light up and appear to function but no sound from it. Even the buttons didnt beep when pressed. The second one functioned as expected SORTA. The output on the receiving end has very low volume. Everyone tells me they have to turn me way up to hear me, which makes everyone else too loud. This wasnt the case with the Uniden 550 this unit replaced. I have the mic gain all the way up but it doesnt seem to help. Rather than return it again, Ill probably just take it to a CB repair place to have it checked. I havent decided yet. Maybe Uniden will see my review and offer some suggestions. EDIT: I decided to return it. I couldnt justify spending additional $$ to get it working right. I bought a different brand.

> 3 dayRadio wouldnt transmit when mic is keyed up straight out of the box. Took it to a CB shop and they couldnt tell me what was wrong with it. A friend purchased the same radio and his works fine. Its a nice radio but going to give it a 3 because of the issue.

> 3 dayThis is a nice looking radio but thats not the reason I purchased it. Ive been using CBs for 40 years now and big fan of the Cobra 29. Recently my Cobra stopped working in my new RV after I swapped it from another. It was over 20 years old so thats OK. I started looking for a new CB and wanted something with the same features and a little more modern looking to match the new RV. After searching for a few weeks and reading all the reviews on different units I went with the Bearcat 880. There is a lot of new cb radios that just came out like the new LCD Cobra 29 but after checking them all out the 880 wins. It has all the features that my 29 had and more. The new cobra 29 was a close second but the unit is larger and the display is not as nice or as easy to read like the 880. Power is good and meters at about 3.89 watts out with a matched Wilson antenna. If your a Trucker then the Classic 29 is fine but if you want the same performance and a better, easier to read display day or night then the 880 is the one.

> 3 dayFantastic radio! I love the diagnostic feature. For an amateur like me, it already saved me a headache when I failed the antenna test (it wasnt grounded properly) so instead of me backtracking I just went straight to my antenna mount, found the problem and corrected it.
