This is a heavy duty metal stand. The depth is adjusted and secured into place with a bolt (tool included) so you dont have to deal with springs. Works perfectly for a Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book 2. Its worth every penny.

Purchased a black unit sold by ZWW INC. No logos, heavy, much sturdier than expected. Even includes a small allen wrench to adjust the screws. The non-slip silicone pad coverts the entire bottom except for the screw slots. Holds my hefty, 1.1 thick, 15.6 ThinkPad with ease. At the time of writing, the first pic in the listing is incorrect. This is the dual stand version (as I expected).
