Vanicream Moisturizing Skin Cream, 16 Ounces

> 3 dayFirst let me say that I am a label-reader: I read ingredients on everything from soup to nuts to skin creams. I never buy a product because of the package design or the celebrity that is marketing it. I go straight to the ingredients and make my decision from there (for all the Aquaphor-users out there, read the label - its Vaseline). While its very true that Vanicream is a nice, non-irritating cream for sensitive skin, the list of ingredients is still made up of long-syllabled chemicals that are hard to pronounce. This doesnt sit well with me, but my daughters dermatologist recommended it so thats why I purchased this product. Vanicream looks, feels, and smells (there is no smell) just like Cetaphil cream. In fact, we alternate between the two depending which is on sale at the time. We tend to stay away from creams that are perfumey or greasy, so when we dont want to splurge financially on natural homeopathic creams with natural ingredients that are familiar and easy to pronounce, we always come back to Vanicream.

> 3 dayIve used dozens of moisturizers and this one is the best! My dermatologist recommended this brand to me several months ago as being very pure and it surely is. Ive been using it ever since on my face and body. It is fragrance free. The skin on my face and body is smooth, free of pimply-like or scratchy marks which I often had with other moisturizers--even fragrant-free ones.

Greater than one weekThe fact that it comes in a tub is a plus because it is easier to use and eliminates waste. It is very helpful with my newly developed eczema. The only issue is that when you are covering your entire body you can go through a tub in a hurry, and it becomes very expensive. This one criticism is of course true of all such products. Recommended! B.K.

> 3 dayLove all of the Vanicream products. This lotion is heavier but absorbs quickly and does an amazing job of moisturizing, especially those dry heels. It also works great to mix with magnesium oil for extra magnesium without the gut side effects.

> 3 dayIve tried everything, EVERYthing out there for eczema for the past 20 years. And Vanicream definitely takes the cake. Its thick and soothing to dry eczema-prone skin without burning, itching, or clogging pores. My dermatologist actually prescribed it (its stocked at some military pharmacies) but I couldnt find it in any local stores. Thank goodness for Amazon. The closest product I found is cetaphil, but Vanicream is much less greasy, absorbs quickly and (when applied lightly) really is non-comedogenic (doesnt clog pores) for those of us with combination skin. The pump is probably a good idea, when the lid isnt sealed tight it gets a little goopy and Then it can clog pores. Also, for those who have said its a bit too thick, try applying it right after showering - it locks in moisture and a the water helps thin it out. Its not a cure-all; I still use it in combination with derma-smoothe and triamcinolone for eczema trouble, but it definitely helps prevent eczema by keeping skin moisturized. For extra dry skin in the winter I recommend supplementing vanicream with pure grapeseed oil - seriously, it sounds strange but even the kitchen variety works well.

> 3 dayApparently I am allergic to the preservatives used in most lotions and creams. Dermatologist and Alergist recommended this cream. Problem solved!

> 3 dayDon’t use anything but Vanicream products on your skin and it will improve. Amazing what happens to your skin when you take away the heavily tainted products.

> 3 dayIt is an incredible moisturizer! I started off using as much of it as I would Cetaphil and found it quite heavy but Ive almost halved what I used and it feels light while still moisturizing well. A little goes a long way. It has no scent once applied which I like and no questionable ingredients.
