I like the cream but during shipping it had oozed out of the top part of the container and was everywhere. It was a messy clean up.

This is a wonderful body cream for those of us with eczema. It absorbs well and does a good job of restoring moisture to the skin. My dermatologist recommended it, which is why I use it. It is fragrance free, so its good for either gender

Good cream. I have dry skin, I am 46 and have had it my whole life, cant get around it but I can help it so its not as bad. This cream, with no perfumes or anything works great with my skin and in the winter when it looks like scales, this makes it look less like scales and retains moisture better. I also have eczema and this did not bother that at all. Plus getting it with the pump was the easiest for application.

I have extremely dry, sensitive skin; so, my dermatologist recommended Vanicream. Because it is so thick, I mix it with a squirt of Vanicream Lite. These products will get my through a dry, cold winter.

Container was broken. Cream was all over packaging. A mess. Love the product! It would be nice to use it.

This moisturizer has honestly been life changing. When I was a young child I had eczema and although I grew out of it, I still have always had allergies and dry skin that required a little moisturizing after showers all year round and lots of moisturizing in the winter. I have tried most of the moisturizing creams and lotions available at drugstores and this product has been by far the best for me. For example, lotions like Lubriderm do absolutely nothing for my skin, I could put it on all day and my skin would be just as dry as before. Its not heavy enough. Some other products like Cetaphil actually made my skin worse because they contained an ingredient that I reacted to (in the case of the Cetaphil, it contains almonds and I am allergic). Vanicream is heavy and effective enough to moisten my skin fast, nearly instantly, and its main selling point is that it contains zero ingredients that people with allergies are likely to react to. As it says on the jar, Free of dyes, fragrance, masking fragrance, lanolin, parabens, formaldehyde. Vanicream was actually originally recommended to me by my allergist, who is also a professor of medicine at Northwestern University. This is the moisturizer he keeps in his office, where he could never use products like Cetaphil which has almond or Aquaphor which has lanolin. If you have very dry skin and are trying to find the best product, heres a short lesson that it took me a few years to understand because nobody explained it to me. There are 3 classes of moisturizing products: (1) lotions, (2) creams, and (3) ointments. Lotions have the lowest proportion of oil in their formulation and are thin and runny and therefore easy to apply, and they usually evaporate and leave little to no evidence that they were ever there. They are also the least effective, and for some people they do almost nothing. On the other hand, ointments are the heaviest product, they are made completely out of oil like Vaseline, so they will create a shiny sheen where they are applied and be very effective at moisturizing and protecting the area. However the ointment residue will very likely get on your clothes and/or furniture and people can see the sheen on you, and especially can see the globular ointment stuck on your hair if you apply it to areas where you have hair. Creams are the middle ground, they are a near 50/50 mix of oil and water. They are thicker and harder to spread than lotions, and they leave more of a sheen, but they leave much less of a sheen than ointments and in my experience with Vanicream, after you wait 2 minutes for the lotion to evaporate after applying, its invisible and doesnt get on your clothes. So to all you people here giving this product any less than 5 stars (it deserves 6), is any cream really the right product for you? I see some reviews saying you hated how thick it is an you went back to your Lubriderm: youre so lucky that a mere lotion will work for your skin, you dont need a cream, congratulations. I see some reviews saying that this product did nothing for you and that the only thing that has helped you is pure Vaseline: you need an ointment, any cream was never going to be strong enough for your skin, stick with an ointment. I see some people on here complaining that Vanicream didnt instantly relieve the itchiness of their eczema skin- who claimed that it would? There are ZERO active ingredients in this moisturizer, thats why we buy it. If you want instant itch relief, buy benadryl cream or something. Vanicream is for moisturizing your skin, period. It will help people with eczema a lot, because moist healthy skin wont break out as often, and its less painful when it does break out, but nobody claimed that this over-the-counter medicine-free moisturizer was going to cure your eczema. I even love the tub that this product comes in with the pump. A lot of competing creams come in tubs without pumps, so you actually have to stick your hand into the tub to get the product. To me it seems gross that whatever bacteria and residue that are on your hands will just be stewing in the tub of Cetaphil or whatever for the months that you are using it. Vanicream is also sold in a pump-less tub but I would stay away from it, these pump dispensers are much nicer.

This skin cream was recommended by my dermatologist to help with a chronic itching problem. Its great. Vanicream has cleansers, creams, lotions, sunscreen etc. Ive used most & will always buy it in the future over cetiphil or lubriderm. I love this stuff.
