It sticks on really well, no issues. I even mounted it to the black sun dots on the windshield around the rearview mirror.

the suction part is not working properly, you must have this if you want the dash cam to stay in place, without it it keeps falling off all the time.

Seems Vantrue R & D is listening to customer complaints/reviews and finally re designed these camera winshield mounts! :) These are great for the Vantrue N4 cameras. I have replaced all four of the suction cup style in my vehicles and they have stuck to the winshield like a champ; unlike the older suction cup style which can dry up, lose their suction and drop off with your camera attached after extended periods in hot weather. They are semi-permanent once installed so do not put them over any sort of winshield defrost copper lines or the dotted black areas etc as it will pull it right off the glass when youre trying to remove. Be sure and prep the surface with naptha(denatured alcohol) for good adhesion. Hope this review helps someone out! -Hiram

I had bought this specifically to replace the ineffective suction cup. I have great expectations for this since it will hold my previously unused 200 bucks Vantrue N2S dash cam. So far i am a relieved man. This adhesive doesnt even move one bit and the recordings, along with 24 hr monitoring has finally been of use to me. I hope Vantrue completely remove the suction cup if they intend to make themselves serious in the dash cam industry. Its such a pity that such a brilliant dash cam becomes dud just because of ineffective suction cup.

I have been running the Vantrue N4 and the GPS mount for a few months now and I have to say, they are awesome! So impressed that I am buying a second set for my wife’s car. Video is excellent quality and files are easy to navigate. I went the full install with the hard wire kit, the GPS mount, the camera (and I did actually run the rear camera). It was a little bit of work but that was in working with the car. The setup was easy to follow. I have used it to access of a license plate from a “stranger danger” car in the neighborhood. I did contact customer service when my windshield had to be replaced because I had lost the extra piece of mounting tape. Their responded well with 24 hours of me contacting them. They excellent care of me so that I could get back on the road.

Bought mine at the end of July (2022). At first, it was great because it was a major improvement from the poor suction cup that came with the camera. The adhesive tape seemed to have fixed the issue. BUT, a little over 6 months later, the tape is now 80% off! Mid-January 2023, about half of the lower portion was off of the spot where it was placed, like it was peeling off. Ive had to re-stick (push) the lower part in everytime and eventually tried to use some other type of tape to hold it in place. A week later, only about 20% of the adhesive is still in place. Im now worried that the camera would fall off soon, just like the original suction cup. Really disappointed. Now Ill need to either order another one (which is unavailable at the moment anyway), or have to buy a separate double sided tape to reinstall this a different way, or go back to the crappy suction cup. Did I say I was really disappointed?

Works much better than the suction cup type. Youll also notice that the camera doesnt jiggle when driving.

I got this because my wife got tired of the original suction cup mount that came with the camera falling off her windshield. My whole family has the same camera and all have the same criticism. I with the manufacturer supplied this adhesive mount with the camera and ditched the suction cup mount. Now I have to buy three more of these adhesive mounts which is a significant added cost to create a robust system.

I had wanted to buy an OEM charger as well but they don’t seem to be available for sale. I wanted this mount to be able to use my one dashcam in different vehicles. I researched and found that the auto adapter for the dashcam is just ordinary 5V 2A input so plugging into my car’s 2.5A USB-A port works just fine.
