My 2yr old has a speech delay and I had been looking for flashcards with action words. I like the realistic pictures on each card and most of the words are easy for my son to learn. We go over a few cards at a time so he doesnt get bored but he seems to pay attention to them and tries to imitate what he sees on few of the cards. The cards are very thin so I usually dont let my son take them because he might fold them like he has with other flashcards. The cards do come in this very thick and sturdy box to keep them protected.

This is a two-box set of photographic flashcards where the emphasis is verbs. There are some helpful hints/instructions on a couple of cards at the very back. If you look at the top picture, you will see the reddish-brown top portion which has the word verbs written upon it. That is the top portion of the box and comes off. The box is made of cardboard. Though the cards themselves are of a decent quality, I really wish that they were either laminated or plastic coated, and they are not. It would certainly help for them to be more durable and last longer. This same company offers several different collections of photo cards for language use. The company is headquartered in Australia. Though I have not found it to be the case with the verbs cards yet, with some of the other cards, the words on the back are written in British/Australian English. These cards are great for anyone learning a 2nd language, increasing children’s vocabulary, writing, storytelling, and more.

I got the Picture My Picture Language Flash Card Library to help my wife with her English writing and spelling. Her native language is Spanish and she has mastered speaking but still has some struggles with writing in English. This is a great set for associating images with a word and allows the learner to understand the spelling and commit it to memory. This set covers Verbs specifically and features 80 ‘real life’ images of people engaging in a range of actions. The cards are sturdy and the images clear and concise. Im happy with the quality of the cards and the results.

I picked these cards to use with my developmentally disabled adult son. I am hoping to stimulate his conversation with these cards, tying them in with a refresher in sign language. So far, he has found them to be very engaging. The cards are very sturdy and come in a durable box, making them an excellent choice for travelling therapists. I like them because the photos are clear, colorful and most importantly feature adults as well as kids. Some of the verbs are more attuned to adults, like mowing and driving, but many would apply to all ages. An excellent set that I hope will assist us in generating some more conversations and increasing my sons sign vocabulary. A great choice!
