VIDBOX Audio Recorder

> 24 hourI have an old CD writer and had been using that to create CDs from my cassette tapes. It could get a bit laborious and I usually then took the CD and downloaded the files onto my computer anyway. So now we have this Vidbox Audio Recorder device which comes with software cables and the converter device. I am not really that computer tech savvy, but it was relatively a breeze for me to install the software and get this thing running. If you have problems, they have free U.S.-based live support. With this device, you can turn the recordings into MP3s, WAV files, audio CDs and MP3 CDs. I wont say that it gives professional results, but since the company is not claiming that it does, it is a non-issue. One thing that is possible is using higher quality RCA cables to plug into the device, which may improve the sound slightly. Other-than-that, I am very pleased with the whole process and the quality of the recordings. As far as transferring record albums, you can do that but the initial transfer will have all the pops and bumps that you hear on the album. There is software, that can help improve the sound, etc., but I found that a bit hard to get a good result and decided to skip that feature. On albums that are readily available and that you cant live without, the no brainer is to buy a CD version of it, but if you are like me and have some great jazz records that you inherited that were never released on CD, go for it! The results are perfectly good in most cases without even having to adjust anything, and it is so easy to use. I now have a slew of my old format recordings on my iPod and Im very happy!

> 24 hourI started doing this to my old vinyl records a few years ago by using a free online service. I wasnt real happy with the results and thought I would try again with this program. It is so much better and easier! The sound quality is even better. I dont have any 8 tracks to try although I know there is a few people still hanging on to them. I have some cassettes I want to do too. Or rather re-do. I also did them a few years back but wasnt pleased at the results either. At the moment I am working on some old oral history cassette tapes. They were made in the 70s and they are in really rough condition because if you dont play them every so often they get in bad shape and these havent been played in years. I tried doing them by the free online site but I can barely make out most of them and I will still probably have problems with some but so far they are coming out much clearer using this program versus the free version. Its really easy to use and Im so happy I got it! Im using a Windows 7 to do this on.

> 24 hourI am not a tech type person and even for me this was not hard to set up. I did have to call the customer service for a couple of questions and they were answered promptly and helped get the connection right.

> 24 hourAt last Ive found a way to convert some old cassettes before they completely disintegrate. The sound isnt as good as it could be, but not because of any fault of VIDBOX. Im going to take all my LPs and record them to MP3 as well.

> 24 hourThe Vidbox Audio Recorder is a nifty piece of software and hardware to transfer your cassettes, 8 tracks and LPs to mp3 or wav format, ensuring that the music you have held on to for so long can be listened to on your pc, a cd or a music player, like an iPod. This package comes with helpful instructions, the software, MUZBOX device, RCA cable and headphone jack. If you tossed your old cassette player, you can get a usb LP player right off Amazon and you can also get stereos with cassette players built in from Amazon. Everything you need to convert your old formats to newer formats and save them on cd, pc, iPod, etc. It will take a usb 2.0 or 3.0 to use the MuzBox device. Great way to get into that old music.

> 24 hourMy uncle has the most extensive music collection of anyone that I know. He has everything from 8 Tracks to Vinal and of course CDs and he has said to me for ages that he would love to convert everything over to digital so that he could take it with him and listen to his collection wherever he wanted. Well, with this amazing software that is just what he can do. For Christmas I have decided that I am going to transfer all of his music over to digital. Installing the software was so simple and I was truly expecting a harder time with it but it installed all on its own and in no time I was ready to start converting what I wanted to first. It came with the hookups I needed in order to convert the 8 track tapes and everything else and I have the 8 tracks already converted. The music sounds great, and sounds like I am listening to it in its original format, which is exactly what my uncle has been wanting. I havent told him what I am doing but I think he is going to love this when I am done. Its such a great thing to have and so easy to use. I am very happy with this software and so glad that something like this exists.
