> 3 dayPlease be advised, you need a specific USB C cable for this monitor to work with your Macbook Pro or any laptop you have. I DID read a review that says you need a USB C 3.1 cable so I bought an Anker cable. The review on it says IT DOES transmit video but it does not. The reason why the review says so is because it pulls from all versions of the cable so there is a version that DOES work. I bought this, however, 60W USB C to USB C Cable [3.3ft, 10Gbps], iVANKY USB C 3.1 Gen 2 Cable Fast Charge with Power Delivery and 4K Video Output, Braided Type-C Video Cable, for MacBook, Chromebook Pixel, iPad Pro and More This works!

> 3 dayUpdated Review: 5/5 stars ViewSonic customer support was great. They admitted there was a problem with firmware updating on MacOS and sent me a replacement monitor and a pre-paid shipping label to send mine back in the same box. The new monitor came with the newest firmware and it works flawlessly. They said that they would fix the bug that breaks monitors during firmware updating, but I still wont risk updating this monitor. Besides the firmware update issue, the only other complaint I have is that the speakers are useless; theyre completely flat and tinny. Other than that, the picture quality and the build quality are excellent. Original Review: 1/5 stars This monitor was great when I first got it. The image is bright and the colors are good. It charges my 15 MacBook Pro and gets 2K output at 60FPS and acts as a USB hub, all over a single (included) USB-C cable. The monitor stand is also very nice, it allows easy height, tilt and rotation adjustment and the setup took less than 5 minutes with no tools. However... I installed the VDisplay software (which lets you control some monitor settings from your computer) and noticed that the monitor had a firmware update available. My monitor was on M001 before the update. After the update, it went to M002, but my monitor could no longer display a proper image. Everything was horribly mangled and covered in rainbow static. Ive tried a laptop and an iPad, Ive tried USB-C and HDMI. Ive reset all monitor settings and tried changing color and display settings. Nothing fixed it. Now my monitor is completely worthless

> 3 dayI like this monitor. The picture is very good and the mounting stand makes positioning the screen easy.

> 3 dayMonitor performed well overall. I liked how adjustable the screen was in terms of angles and height. The only issue I had was with the Type -C interface. Regardless of the USB C cable i used (I tried many) or the monitor settings (I reset the monitor multiple times) I would inevitably hear a high pitch whine from the LCD. The whine would go away whenever I used a HDMI cord. Since I bought the monitor specifically because it had a type c interface, the particular display I received didnt work for me.

> 3 dayThis is to directly compete with Samsungs SH850. Difference from SH850: - Display Panel: IPS vs PLS - USB-C charge: 65W vs 45W. - DisplayPort daisy chain: No vs Yes - USB2 connection from computer: Yes vs No - Audio: lame speakers vs. Audio Out Jack - Eye care mode: not sure vs. Yes - Price: Same - Size/Resolution: Same Otherwise, other specs are similar. The stand on this looks a bit slicker, with a handle to carry. I picked this because its got better review and slightly newer in release date, and the wrong info in its description that its 75Hz. Its not 75Hz, just 60. Everything is great. I dont care about daisy chaining DP and the extra USB2 connection from computer is very nice. But then I decided to return it and get the SH850. Because for some reason, they decided they need to include speakers, but ones so lame that its very far off even compare to my cheap laptops built-in speakers. Literally I just want it to be loud enough, as loud as my incredibly cheap laptops lamest speakers. I checked and all volume are set to 100%. If they dont want to include speakers that are just loud enough, at least just leave it out and include an audio out jack so I can add my own ones, that I dont need another wire plugging into the computer.

> 3 dayPROS -DP and HDMI inputs -New USB-C input. -Excellent stand with swivel, up/down, tilt. -IPS panel which is best for general computer usage. Gamers might prefer a different panel with faster response. -Integrated speakers. Nothing special but convenient to have. -Very good build quality and image quality.

> 3 dayI tried this out with two Macs, a 2018 MacBook Pro with USB C connectivity, and a 2015 MacBook Pro. I connected the ViewSonic using a USB-C to DisplayPort cable, using a Thunderbolt 3-USBC cable, and using an HDMI cable. Whichever cable was used, from whichever Mac, resulted in an identical HD picture and an instantaneous transition to two side-by-side windows that could be used from the Mac. The picture itself is larger than that of the MacBooks built-in video but not quite as bright or as crisp. Still, it makes for perfect watching from a distance - Netflix streaming - or for having an extra stretch of desktop for home-based office work. What I have not been able to make work is the audio. For both Macs, for any cable, I was at best able to get it so that low level volume comes through to the ViewSonics speakers but it is not menu-adjustable nor does it respond to the built-in volume control (though the mute setting works properly). This may be a problem on the MacOS side rather than on the ViewSonics side, The sound can easily be switched back to the Mac where it is controllable in the usual manner. There are a number of adjustments to the video that can be made from the ViewSonics built in menu-driven control structure. Input control to get where you need is reasonably intuitive. The angle and height of the monitor on the detachable stand is easily adjusted, and the unit can be used in portrait mode if desired (and thats really where this shines, since that makes review of long pdf files or Word documents a breeze). This is more of an expansion of the MacBook Pros built-in video for those who need more desktop space, rather than as a separate screen for watching movies or other streaming material. From that perspective, connectivity and operating functionality is all excellent. Now if I could get the audio to play nicely with my MBPs, Id be happier with alternative applications.

> 3 dayGenerally is good performance for price. I purchased this item for true 8bit color depth and other graphical parameters. But Firmware updating cannot support for VG2455-2K Model is is bad. Pros Good picture quality Color depth 8bit USB TYPE-C fast charging support New technologies supported Const Firmware updates cannot support for this model VG-24552K 2x2 watt speakers Sound quality is not perfect but so-so Item weight is so high for its dimensions.

Greater than one weekOn amazon it states this monitor is a 75hz refresh rate one. Technically, its true but it only works with lower resolutions - 1280x1024 and lower. Why would you want to buy a 4k monitor just to lower the resolution? ViewSonic should have been more clear about it and specify 75hz works only with such low resolutions! I didnt expect such a foul behavior from ViewSonic.
