> 3 dayI really like this monitor. It’s a well-designed monitor with a bright, crisp display that’s going to be really tough to beat without spending significantly more money. And, even if you do decide to spend significantly more money for a better monitor, the difference in picture quality isn’t going to be a jaw dropping. Now, with all that said, once you get this monitor up and running, you will definitely need to make many adjustments to it to get it dialed in exactly the way you like it. So, plan on spending about an hour or so changing settings, making adjustments and fine tuning the picture. And, once you do that, I can’t imagine anyone being anything but happy with this monitor. If I had to complain about something, it would be about the speakers. They’re strictly utilitarian. They provide basic sound. If you want anything better than that, you’ll need to get a pair of external speakers. Which I already had, and pretty much knew I would need since the onboard speakers are, of course, extremely small. Other than the minor speaker thing, I really couldn’t be more happy with this monitor. I think it’s a very solid choice if you’re looking for a 24” budget-friendly monitor. If you have any questions about this ViewSonic monitor, please feel free to ask, and Ill try my best to answer. I hope you found this review helpful.

19-11-2024There used to be a time when monitors were MUCH more expensive and thanks to the proliferation of options and increased technology, competitive prices have saved our wallets. But when it comes to selecting a monitor, the brand should also be taken into consideration because that is arguably the most important part of your computing process - you need to SEE what you are doing? ViewSonic has been around forever and its quality remains unchanged, and this monitor attests to the craftsmanship and value. The graphics are vivid and crisp, the construction of the monitor is sturdy, easy to assemble and set up - and being able to swivel the screen or flip it is what makes this SO AWESOME! This is a good monitor for your modest home office, an extra monitor for heavy-duty tasks where you need two screens, or even in my case where the screen on an old laptop is cracked and this has saved my work because I am now able to transfer it to another hard drive - I used the VGA output but there is also HDMI! Priced for holiday savings, this is a must have!

23-11-2024This ViewSonic VG2455 24 Inch IPS 1080p Monitor provides gorgeous color and even better, it can swivel to portrait mode. This is a 24 model, which is a modest size by todays standards but its perfect for a small workspace or as a second monitor. It has a solid list of features including an IPS display, integrated speakers, swivel and tilt functions as well as easy height adjustment, an ultra thin bezel on three sides, USB-C, HDMI, display port and VGA connection ports, and five preset view modes. I have had a number of Viewsonic monitors over the years and have always favored them because of the brilliant color and this one is no exception. I am using this with a Windows system so have had no issues with the sound. The speakers are quite decent. Not as good as an expensive, secondary speaker but solidly good and they dont take up precious desktop space as an added sound system would. What I really love is the ability to swivel the display to portrait mode. In portrait mode, you can tuck this monitor into a very small space and its superb for text based work/layout or reading. I also love the 40 degree tilt because I use a standing desk and its a simple matter to just tilt it to the best angle for me when I am standing. The response time is a bit slow for some gaming but it isnt sold as a gaming monitor. You can certainly find a less expensive, 24 monitor but the features and gorgeous display make it worth the extra money, IMO. I have a Viewsonic display that is over 10 years old and still working perfectly so I am hoping this one will be just as durable.

> 3 dayUpdated Review: 5/5 stars ViewSonic customer support was great. They admitted there was a problem with firmware updating on MacOS and sent me a replacement monitor and a pre-paid shipping label to send mine back in the same box. The new monitor came with the newest firmware and it works flawlessly. They said that they would fix the bug that breaks monitors during firmware updating, but I still wont risk updating this monitor. Besides the firmware update issue, the only other complaint I have is that the speakers are useless; theyre completely flat and tinny. Other than that, the picture quality and the build quality are excellent. Original Review: 1/5 stars This monitor was great when I first got it. The image is bright and the colors are good. It charges my 15 MacBook Pro and gets 2K output at 60FPS and acts as a USB hub, all over a single (included) USB-C cable. The monitor stand is also very nice, it allows easy height, tilt and rotation adjustment and the setup took less than 5 minutes with no tools. However... I installed the VDisplay software (which lets you control some monitor settings from your computer) and noticed that the monitor had a firmware update available. My monitor was on M001 before the update. After the update, it went to M002, but my monitor could no longer display a proper image. Everything was horribly mangled and covered in rainbow static. Ive tried a laptop and an iPad, Ive tried USB-C and HDMI. Ive reset all monitor settings and tried changing color and display settings. Nothing fixed it. Now my monitor is completely worthless

> 3 dayThis monitor is AWESOME! It looks good, it was easy to set up, and the picture is great. But the best part is the USB-C. Im using a ThinkPad T16 and with this monitor, I dont need my dock or my AC adapter anymore! Now I just have a single USB-C cable coming from the monitor, I plug it into my ThinkPad, and Im ready to work! My USB mouse and USB headset are plugged into the monitor. The USB-C cable is driving the monitor, and its also charging my ThinkPad at the same time. How cool is that! If I had one suggestion about what could make this monitor better, I wish there were more USB ports on the back. There are 2 USB ports on the side, but I wish these were on the back instead, because that would help with cable management for peripherals like my mouse and headset which are always plugged into the monitor. One other thing - it comes with a USB-C cable; the product description doesnt say anything about this, and I ended up ordering a USB-C cable separately which was not needed.

> 3 dayOther reviewers here have noted all the pros about this monitor, I will just add that 1-) the adjustable stand is especially easy to use and useful for long hours and avoiding neck pain and 2-) reminder that they ship only a display port/USB cable and an HDMI cable with it even though monitor is USB -C enabled. if you are running Mojave 10.14 or later the adapters for display port and HDMI simply will not work, the mac book will never see the monitor. You *must* get a USB-C 3.1 to C cable. Then you can just plug it all in. Also need to add a shout out to Anne at Amazon (complimentary) tech support for helping figure all this out by coordinating with ViewSonic because it wasnt documented anywhere at the point at which I was trying to do it. Thank you Anne!

> 3 dayGood entry level monitor for business. I like that I can adjust the height and tilt in so many ways. Picture quality pretty good. Only thing I dont like is the menu tree is not very intuitive. Overall a good choice.

> 3 dayTo start, let me reiterate whats already been shared. This monitor will only work with a Mac laptop with a USB-C 3.1 connector. I originally tried using my USB-C charging cable that I use to power my laptop and that DOES NOT WORK. I went to the Apple Store to buy a Belkin USB-C 3.1 cable. I told the Apple Store clerk I needed this cable for use with a Monitor and they tried convince me I would need a Thunderbolt 3 USB-C cable instead. I ended up buying both and they both work, but I will be returning the Thunderbolt cable because it was $10 more expensive (And .2 meters shorter ). I should gone with my gut, now I have another errand to run. Just get the Belkin USB-C 3.1 and the monitor is plug and play! I am thoroughly impressed with the quality of this monitor, after adjusting the Color/Brightness/Contrast Ive got it matching my Mac laptop Retina display very nicely. I will say, the brightness on the laptop can go maaaybe a hair brighter than the monitor, but its barely noticeable. Also the sharpness on the monitor looks great, but its not quite as clear as the laptop. That means this probably isnt the best monitor for high end detailed Video/Graphic design work, but for everything else this monitor is excellent. The aspect ratio on the monitor is a little wider than the laptop so you have to deal with a tiny sliver of letterboxing on the laptop. (You can also opt for vertical letterboxing on the monitor, but this doesnt look as good). Other great features: The USB-C 3.1 cable will charge your laptop while also presenting the display. There are an additional 3 standard USB ports. Ive tested out the usb connections and the devices Ive tested have worked perfectly with my laptop. This is a great bonus. Also, the stand was so easy to set up. The monitor snaps into place and the base screws into the neck with a single flat head screw (But it has a twist handle so you dont even need a screw driver. The stand is heigh adjustable and also rotates about its vertical axis and tilts up and down. The best part is it also rotates about its depth axis so you can work on projects in Portrait rather than landscape orientation. Perfect for writing. The speakers on this thing are awful, but I cant imagine anyone would buy a monitor for audio quality. Grab a pair of external speakers and youll be set. Overall, this a great deal for a very good 1440p monitor with some useful additional features. I recommend it for use with a mac laptop for anything other than high end video/graphic work. For everyday use, its excellent.

> 3 dayPlease be advised, you need a specific USB C cable for this monitor to work with your Macbook Pro or any laptop you have. I DID read a review that says you need a USB C 3.1 cable so I bought an Anker cable. The review on it says IT DOES transmit video but it does not. The reason why the review says so is because it pulls from all versions of the cable so there is a version that DOES work. I bought this, however, 60W USB C to USB C Cable [3.3ft, 10Gbps], iVANKY USB C 3.1 Gen 2 Cable Fast Charge with Power Delivery and 4K Video Output, Braided Type-C Video Cable, for MacBook, Chromebook Pixel, iPad Pro and More This works!
