19-11-2024There used to be a time when monitors were MUCH more expensive and thanks to the proliferation of options and increased technology, competitive prices have saved our wallets. But when it comes to selecting a monitor, the brand should also be taken into consideration because that is arguably the most important part of your computing process - you need to SEE what you are doing? ViewSonic has been around forever and its quality remains unchanged, and this monitor attests to the craftsmanship and value. The graphics are vivid and crisp, the construction of the monitor is sturdy, easy to assemble and set up - and being able to swivel the screen or flip it is what makes this SO AWESOME! This is a good monitor for your modest home office, an extra monitor for heavy-duty tasks where you need two screens, or even in my case where the screen on an old laptop is cracked and this has saved my work because I am now able to transfer it to another hard drive - I used the VGA output but there is also HDMI! Priced for holiday savings, this is a must have!

> 3 dayI purchased this as a second monitor and after a couple months I have had zero issues. Build quality is great, as well as the viewing angles for vertical usage. The trend with many companies is to produce these big monitors with small resolutions. This creates a visually disturbing pixel density that I personally find unpleasant (FHD@32=68.84 PPI vs WQHD@24=122.38 PPI). Its nice to see companies still producing normally-sized monitors with larger resolutions. The stability and mobility is great. Large swivel radius, tilt, and height adjustment for finding that sweet-spot. The handle for movement is a very nice addition. The only thing to be wary of is the fact that this monitor DOES NOT support refresh rates over 60hz at 2k resolution. But for some reason the product description has an eye-catching final bullet point of 75 hertz. (I wanted to take a star off for that shady advertising, but it really is a great monitor)

> 3 dayI did hours of research before taking a chance on this monitor. I bought it as a second monitor for my new MacBook Air 2018, as my new Mac would not recognize my old monitor even with the correct adapter cord (I’m guessing it was too old and outdated?). I chose this product because it is USB-C compatible and based on the positive reviews. I nervously hooked it up using an Apple thunderbolt 3 cord ($39.99 on amazon) hoping my Mac would recognize it and — voila!! It worked beautifully. This monitor is not only perfectly compatible with MacBook Air 2018 but also has great resolution and some nice adjustment features - you can effortlessly move it up and down or swivel the screen side to side using the easy-to-assemble base. I highly recommend it!!

> 3 dayPros: 1. Nice picture. 2. Nice to be able to see different applications in different screens. Cons 1. Inadequate instructions to connect to a computer (MacBook Air 2020) that has none of the specific ports. Eventually I figured out on my own how to connect via HDMI using a hub. Not easy to do with limited technical knowledge. 2. I was disappointed to find out that the Display Manager and Split View function are only available on Windows desktop PCs. When I called tech support, they kind of minimized the importance of Split View, but I am working remotely with Microsoft Remote Desktop where a lot of functions are not available. Split Screen would have come in very handy.

Greater than one weekThis is a real clear and high quality monitor. I had to get a monitor because I’m now working from home. One of my friends recommended this monitor, I looked at reviews, and made the purchase. I’m glad I did. It’s clear, easy to adjust, and having the ports makes it an excellent choice if you have a MacBook with only the usb-c ports. It even charges my MacBook with the standard plug. Hands down a great purchase.

> 3 dayMonitor perform very well - good color, excellent picture quality, brightness is much better than my prior monitor. Im using 2560x1440p resolution - and use it as my primary monitor. I also have a 21 HP 1-8-p monitor as my 2nd monitor and am using the laptop screen as monitor 3. All three interact well in Windows10. The 2560x1440 gives me plenty of working area on the main screen -- often I use 2-3 windows on that screen and can still position them to view all with only slight overlaps. I use screen 2 as the screen to share for online presentations or to park an open document or Excel for frequent reference. I only keep then laptop screen open so I can use Hello Windows login from the laptop camera -- I dont really use the screen often. I deliberately bought the USB C to have one cable connections - but due to some other port needs, Im actually connected using HDMI for now so I cannot comment on that capability.

21-11-2024I am a developer so I write code, surf the web, deal with spreadsheets and text all day long with occasional Photoshop work. Im not a gamer at all so no comment on how this monitor performs for gaming. Im running Debian on an older Lenovo laptop (T430s) using a Display Port from the monitor to the Mini Display Port on the laptop. Let me say how happy I am with my purchase. This is a solid monitor with a thin bezel, beautiful picture, beautiful design all combined in a 24 package. The bezel and the stand are premium in terms of texture, design and durability. I prefer monitor stands that are square and non-glossy compared to those that are round and glossy. I know I know, to me, design and looks matter too. This monitor also has actual buttons. The buttons are firm in place and dont wiggle around. It also has a Text-mode setting that helps reading text easier. I appreciate the fact that ViewSonics logo on the front of the screen is black and not chrome or white so it doesnt jump at you. I thought that was a smart design choice by ViewSonic. The speakers on this monitor are above average. I dont have much expectation of built-in monitor speakers in general. I buy a monitor for its picture quality and resolution capabilities, first and foremost. Regardless, I dont have problems watching videos or listening to music. I used to have a 27 BenQ with 2560x1440p resolution. That monitor was amazing but it was too big for my desk and the text was a bit fuzzy. Im now running the same resolution on a 24 monitor with the same screen real estate and the text looks amazingly sharp. Note: A 27 1080p monitor does not necessarily give you more screen real estate over a 24 1080p. Its not the physical size of the monitor but rather the resolution of the monitor that will allow you to fit more windows on your screen. It took me 3 monitors to figure this out. Also note that the higher the resolution, the smaller the text. Basically sit back at an arms length from your monitor screen and find the resolution that youre comfortable with. Can you read text or surf the web without any eye strain? Then determine which monitor can produce that resolution at its best. Of course, other factors are involved here too such as your graphics card that you have to consider. Overall, I highly recommend this monitor for the price. Hope this helps people out there.

> 3 dayLove these monitors. Really nice picture quality and easy to setup. I got 2 monitors to setup at home and connected to my laptop via a hub. Only HF them few weeks, but working great so far.
