> 24 hourCheap really small wires on battery connections. No buzzer at all. Light is difficult to see, it’s recessed into the plastic. Just junk, save your money for a real power probe.

> 24 hourI wasnt sure if I was going to use a power probe very often so I bought a cheaper version. I was pleasantly surprised on how well this worked. I used it for about 3 months before it started acting up. I had used it to power up probably some heavier components than I should of and it felt like the insides had melted. I finally completely cooked it by using it to troubleshoot an electric cart that used a 50 volt system. The thing is only rated for 24 volts so it is probably my fault that it burned up. I do think however that with more heavy use it would have broke within the next few months anyway. I think this thing would shine for the weekend warrior that did occasional electrical troubleshooting. However in a professional environment you might want to purchase a name brand product.

> 24 hourThis is my second probe and it has become the modern automotive device that is replacing bulb test lights. I will never buy another old style bulb in handle single lead test light because its almost useless compared to this style. This is actually a real power probe just a budget version. I have professional power probe but purchased this just to keep in my car. Build quality is worth $30max but will save you hundreds or make you thousands.

The price is definitely and I opener, I have used something similar but I havent had a chance to use this one but I think it should work out well I would recommend it to any Automotive technician.

Quick self-testHook-up: unroll the unit’s cable. Clamp the red clip to the positive terminal of the vehicle’s battery, clamp the black clip to the negative terminal of the vehicle’s battery. Press the front part(-) of the power switch, the LED indicator should light RED. Press the rear part (=), the LED indicator should light GREEN. The unit is now ready to use. If the LED indicator did not light, the cause may be that the clip connections are not good or the unit is damaged. |
Polarity testingContacting the probe’s tip to a positive(+) circuit will light the LED indicator RED. Contacting the probe’s to a negative(-) circuit will light the LED indicator GREEN. Contacting the probe’s tip to an open circuit will be indicated by that the LED indicator is off. |
Continuity testingBy using the probe tip together with the auxiliary ground lead, continuity can be tested on wires and components which are disconnected from the vehicle’s electrical system. When continuity is present, the LED indicator will light GREEN. Note: Don not press the power switch |

Testing trailer lamps and connectionsConnect the unit to a good battery. Clip the clip of the auxiliary ground lead to the trailer ground Probe the contacts at the jack while pressing the power switch’s front part(-). This lets you check the function and orientation of the trailer lamps. |
Jumper lead featureThe black clip and the auxiliary ground lead are connected directly through the unit. By leaving the red clip disconnected from the vehicle’s battery, the unit can be used as a long jumper lead. Be careful to avoid short circuits and overloading when using this jumper function. In this configuration, the leads are not protected by the unit’s circuit breaker. |
Checking for bad ground contactsProbe the suspected ground wire or contact with the probe tip. Observe the green LED indicator. Press the power swithc"s front part(" - ")then release. If the LED indicator changed from GREEN to RED, this is not a true ground. If the unit sounds, this circuit is more than likely a direct ground. Keep in mind that high current components such as starter motors will also cause the unit to sound. |
