WarLock Tiles: Accessory - Marketplace

> 24 hourThis review is specifically for the Tiles III - Curves expansion set. I have many of the warlock tile sets, and have to say this one disappointed me the most. Several small marketing and design choices really hurt this set. From the design side of things, a high percentage of the parts in this set are extremely limited in the ways they can be connected to each other or to other pieces. For example, an exterior outside curved wall connected to a inside curved floor tile has no means of being connected to anything else.(in my picture there are 4 of these, they make the hole in the center of the castle). Another example is 4 outside curved floor tiles connected to 4 inside curved floor tiles (second picture). The other design issue I see is the direction of the wooden floor planking on the 2 types of floor tiles are facing different directions. This means if you want to be consistent with your flooring design, all of your locations with these tiles will need to be Parquet style. From a marketing/product side of things, the first (minor) issue is the picture on the front of the box. Unlike other expansions, this one does not call out that you cannot make the setup shown on the cover without additional sets. But the real issue is the piece mix inside the box. Each of the curved pieces represents 1/4 of a full circle. Since you need 4 pieces to make a circle, any curved parts should be provided in multiples of 4. In this set, every part is a curved part, of which 4 part types include quantities that are NOT multiples of 4. In my picture you will see a simple 4-tower castle/outpost. You will also notice I am 2 pieces short of completing it. That is because you would need 12 exterior outside walls, and this set includes only 10. So, to make a simple castle layout, you would need a starter set, and TWO curves expansions to do so. Some positives I want to point out are that the box is the same size/type as the other suitcase-style boxes in other sets (although this one is pretty empty inside), and these pieces in your layout really do add a wow factor. This set should have been a home run, instead I am left wanting to see if a revised expansion comes out.

> 24 hourMakes for amazing scenery for your game, but comes without flooring tiles so you need Dungeon Tiles I for that. I returned set II, and ordered a second set of the half wall Dungeon Tiles I.

> 24 hourI have purchased a lot of WizKids products. Not all are great but this one -- and the door set -- are my favorites. The items you get in this set are nice looking, and super versatile for your RPG needs. This give great return on your purchase investment. I love it. Thanks Wizkids!

> 24 hourThere is a of dungeon dressing out there, but this set gives you several items for a town square. Only about a third of items are market items, but the other are well made and will see some re-play value.

> 24 hourThis pre-painted miniature set including a canopied market stall, crates of produce, and baskets of seafood. Additional peaceful village features include a well, a fountain, a bell and job board. And if your village is not so peaceful there is a stocks, a guillotine, gallows and an executioner to do the deed. Some of these items have been available from Wizkids as unpainted packs but great to get them all together to instantly set a village market scene. (Baskets of sea food and crates of produce are new.)
