17-11-2024worked for one day and then had issues with speed and connections. i am not sure if defect, since it did work for a day, or compatibility because you cannot update the firmware or set up the modes in this due to not being able to run the software on silicon macs at all, i would avoid this one for the mac completely even if you are using an external enclosure, server.... etc. out of the box it does not support mac sleep and will disconnect all the time.

> 3 dayI am using this drive to clone my current system drive which was near full, and it was very easy to install and plug and play for my current Asus motherboard. I under Gen4 NVMes are a bit pricey but it was worth it alone for the speed difference and optimized performance. Very solid upgrade choice and fair pricing.

> 3 dayWith my new build my primary drive is the WD_BLACK SN850X 1TB, in the second gen4 NVMe slot I decided on the WD BLACK SN770 2TB. With advertised read speeds up to 5,150MB/s it looked to be a great compliment to my primary drive. Ive attached a screenshot of CrystalDiskMark results and the dont disappoint, after filling up the disk over 70% full this drive tested at reads speeds of 5,062MB/s, and write speeds of 4,514MB/s. Also, the WD Dashboard software is really nice provides a nice display of your drive(s) health and temps. I recommend the WD BLACK SN770 2TB.

> 3 daySo I rmad the device due to the fact it was DOA, the second DOA western digital hard drive ive gotten in just a few months spaced between each purchase. The first one I received I was able to get it refunded through amazon on my wifes account, I figured that was just a fluke so I ordered a second drive from them and that one also came DOA which was shocking to me. This is not why I give western digital 1 star. There customer service for the RMA process is abysmal. The guy who set up my RMA put the wrong serial number so they denied my rma. Im not even sure theyre going to send my drive back now so Im just out the couple hundred I spent on my hard drive for the mistake that they made. Ill never buy western digital ever again, ill stick to Sabrent and Samsung. I never had any issues with any of their drives. i feel like you guys need to make this right, because all i wanna do now is tell people how bad your customer service is and how bad your products are. Youre quality control is horrible as well. Please contact me because Id like the drive replaced or at the very least, send my old drive back so I can take pictures of it and report it to the BBB.
