Got this today and it was so easy and smooth to switch games over on my ps5. Only ps4 games can be switched though. Ps5 games have to stay on console HDD. I might be crazy but i think Warzone loaded faster from this extended drive than it did from the console itself

It runs warzone flawlessly so it can pretty much be relied on for what you need.

Bought this 2 years ago (2020) with the exact same price ($129.99), works great since the first day. Setup a separate fan to cool it but thats not a big issue to me. I only regret not choosing a larger capacity that time.

Great build quality love that it’s a metal case. 20G/s is super nice to have, I use this to store a few games that I play more frequently for faster load times on Xbox. Overall it’s been great I just wish it was a little less money.

I bought this to be a workhorse for moving files between systems and holding data. I had previously purchased the 2TB model (not SSD) and while it is solid, it was quite a bit slower. the SSD model is 10x faster than the older spindle drives. Its also 1/2 the size. the outer casing is all metal, has rubber feet to keep it from slipping. The older 2TB model came with the legacy USB 3.x cable, while the new 500GB SSD unit comes with USB-C. If youre not concerned about speed, youll get more space using the older 2.5 spinning drive. If speed is an issue, the SSD is THE solution. Fast. Both drives came pre-formatted with EXFAT, and one minor glitch (both partitions were labeled WD_BLACK -so with both devices plugged into my Mac, it could not differentiate them. I ended up re-formatting and renaming the new one WD_SSD. One thing to note - the SSD does run warmer, but the metal casing seems to perform as heat-sink too. Very happy.

Works on ps5, super fast and no lag, definitely worth money. As another reviewer stated runs really hot when playing warzone (not as much when playing other ps4 games). Highly recommend getting a portable fan. “Flydigi” had good fans and work great. Remember doesnt play ps5 games.

PS5 SSD fills up quick. If you’re looking for external storage this is the one. Only PS4 games can be put on the external but that’s perfectly fine by me. Definitely worth the money and super easy to use. Super fast on top of that
