The fan whine is louder than I anticipated, therefor I would use this in an enclosure that can reduce the fan noise. Also, the white connector that comes with the fan feels cheap. Its just a pressure fit. I would solder the ends of the fan cable to the included plug. There is plenty of cable that is connected to the fan motor to allow for multiple soldering. The volume of wind coming from the fan itself is very good and will remove heat from an enclosure very well. NOTE: Remember you have to size the fan to the size of the enclosure you will using.

I live in an apartment and my network gear is in a closet in the hallway, thats where the internet connection is. Needless to say, that closet gets warm in the summer. I have the router/modem supplied by ATT, my own router, a NAS and a Plex Server (old nVidia Shield) all in the closet, so yea, it gets warm. What I was looking for was a way to increase air circulation in the closet and came across this bad boy. Its a great, nerdy solution to what I wanted lol. The fan is simple to set up and has an on/off switch. What I did was I have that plugged into a smart plug and have control over it with an app. Well the fan is simple to use and set up. You just plug in the 2 wires that come from the fan to the white connector, plug it in to power and hit the switch and its on. It is a PC fan so it fits in with my geeky set up in my closet. The fan blows a substantial amount of air and and is a bit loud, but its in my closet so the noise isnt really an issue for me. Ive come back home from work and have had to leave that closet door open because its really hot in there, but now with this fan the temp has really improved. Its still warm, dont get me wrong but the temps of my NAS and PC have dropped down with the improved air flow of this fan. The nVidia Shield has passive cooling so having improved air flow has helped it with 4K rendering. My NAS fan is not always running at high speeds anymore either, it still revs up every once in a while but it used to be constant so this is a win for me. Its a simple fan but for my use, it was a great help.

Well the seller really wants you to be satisfied. Seems they noticed my critique and reached out to me to offer a suggestion of trying another fan of theirs that had a significant reduction in noise. After replying that I would gladly trade them my fan for a replacement and then rate that one. Their rep was very appreciative and immediately sent a new different fan with a variable voltage controller that allows for a major reduction in noise for use in quiet environments. They didnt even want the old fan back. So lets compare. The original fan runs at a high speed and moves a lot of air with a high frequency scream that can be annoying if you need to concentrate. The new fan is really what you need to augment a hot running pc when doing heavy graphics or CADD work as I do. The matching size and variable control of voltage makes a big difference. If you run at max voltage the fan is slightly less annoying that the original when run side by side. Adjusting the voltage downward to around 7 volts provides almost as much wind flow at a big improvement in noise. This is clearly the model you should seek out from this company for computer cooling. The original would be better suited to server rooms. Orig post Well made fan but it seems very loud for a 35 db rating. I had planned to use this on a hot multi core pc for extra heat extraction above the cooling tower but may need to re-think using an alternative as this really is loud. Ill see how long I can endure it before I lose it and look for a quieter fan. For this price I was expecting a better blade design that would minimize noise. The angle of the blade and its shape seem to make a whistling sound due to the sheer speed at which it runs.

The fan was used for a small ventilation project I had planned. It was easy to connect with exposed wires. I had stripped off a bit more of the casing and secured it to the provided switch plug with some electrical tape. Runs quiet given how powerful this little fan is. Connection and wiring never got hot even after running for hours. Im sure the bearing could be tuned a bit with some grease to make it run even quieter. TBD on those modifications when I do them. Highly recommend!

There is not much one can say about a fan--so long as it actually works and moves air, as this one does--but it does the job well and it is quiet. I got this to serve as a small, inconspicuous ventilator fan in a small bathroom and it is doing the job just fine. It was easier to wire and install than I expected it to be and because of its small size, it doesnt stand out like a sore thumb either. Definitely worth the price.

The airflow is good, but just a little noisier then I was hoping

It works good but it’s too loud. Sounds like a drone with its high pitched wine.
