If there was ever a resolution to the argument over which tungsten electrodes to use on both steel and aluminum, purple would be that resolution. If you are new to welding, buy a pack of theses and you can’t go wrong. At least....you can’t blame the tungsten ‘when’ you do....!

For my first attempt TIG welding these did just fine. I dont have a whole lot of experience, but these seemed to handle different thicknesses of metal and made my arc very controllable. Also this particular tungsten sharpens really well with a brand new cut off wheel.

Good tungsten rods. The size is perfect for thin sheet metal.
