> 3 dayIts amazing how cheap you can get high capacity hard drives nowadays. I love the high storage capabilities while not being extremely slow like many hard drives. Dont get me wrong a ssd is several times faster but the prices of high storage ssds are just depressing. Until you can get a reasonable priced high capacity ssd, this is perfect for bulk storage on a main device, it is fast enough to game and do daily tasks though I wouldnt recommend using this as your primary drive but rather a secondary with a ssd for booting and important files and this drive for anything else

> 3 dayYour typical, run of the mill, mechanical Hard Drive. This thing gives you a good amount of storage at an extremely reasonable price.

> 3 dayIf you need storage, this drive works well. Fastest sata drive out there. Not the best choice for newer games, you would want an ssd or m.2, but a lot of games will still run off this. Not to mention so much room to save movies, music, backups, etc. Very good addition to any pc.

> 3 dayIve used nothing but WD drives for over 30 years. First one was a tiny 240MB drive and since have been through many upgrades. While most were due to outgrowing the drives, Ive had maybe 2 catastrophic failures. I had a few drives start to go bad developing bad sectors but were caught in time to preserve data on a backup drive. While I know SSD is the thing now and is my preference for sure for a laptop, I do not find them to be a great advantage for sustained transfers like backing up or cloning a HD. SSD rates are initially very high then slow down after a few seconds. So for a while I will stick with spinning platters. This particular model is very fast rivaling SSD transfers for routine writes to another section of drive, as fast as my SSD laptop is.

> 3 dayI have been a big fan of Western Digital and have been using the Black edition since they were introduced. I have several that are probably 10 years old. I have never had a Black edition hard drive fail on me. I could have went with a less expensive model, since this is used for cold storage, but believe its worth the extra cost for data security. I have been using Western Digital hard drives since the 90s and have only had a few failures. Which were a couple Blues and Green. and 2 before they were identified by colors. I use a purple in my Network rack NVR and a Red in a stand alone NVR. Both write 24/7 without an issue.

> 3 dayThe seller was Amazon. I paid 70 bucks. The drive installed just fine for me. After installation and formatting, the drive shows 931 GB free space. My PC is running Windows XP Home SP3. I am using this drive as an extra data drive; I did not install the operating system on it. This is an advanced format drive. To learn what this means, use google and search for western digital advanced format. I needed a data cable, so I purchased

> 3 dayI have been buying Western Digital drives for decades now and have had excellent drive life and reliability. This 4 TB Black model drive has started out like others I have had in the past. I got this drive to replace a WD Blue 1 TB drive that is now too small for my needs, but is still performing well. Low noise level and excellent access speeds have continued with the 4TB WD Black model. If I have any issues, Ill update this review.
