> 3 dayMy reason for purchasing this WiFi extender was to bring 5GHz WiFi to a device that only has a 100Mbit/s wired Ethernet port and no built-in WiFi. The first issue I ran into is that the extender has a 32 character WPA-PSK limit. My current 5GHz WPA-PSK is 63 characters, any every other device I have has no problem with a 63 character WPA-PSK. While this was not a deal breaker, it would be annoying to have to change the WPA-PSK for all my devices. The second issue I ran into is that there is no way to turn off the extension networks. I just need the Ethernet port. I actually have a good WiFi signal throughout my house and do not need the extension networks. For those that intend to use the device as an extender, note that the device does not extend both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks. You must select one network as the source, and then the extender creates extension networks on the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies from the selected source network. There is no way to update the firmware. What if a bug is found? The documentation is poor. There are very few settings that can be tweaked. This might be a good thing for some users. I ended up returning this extender and ordering a TP-Link extender for about the same price that should do everything I want. The documentation is much better and I was able to confirm that I can turn of the extension networks, upgrade the firmware, etc. Although I was not happy with this extender for my purposes, I gave a 3-star rating because it might work well for some people that are looking for an ultra-simple install that provides few options and meets the needs of many users. UPDATE After the TP-Link extender arrived, it was everything I hoped for, but it would not deliver a magic packet to my PC to wake it up using WOL. I also noticed that the MAC address of the wired Ethernet device is not visible at the router. I ended up returning the TP-Link and canceling the return for this extender. It seems to be working well for me, but I was still annoyed that I had to change the WPA-PSK for all my devices, and I wish that I could turn off the extension networks. I am changing my review to 4-stars since I an using extender and it seems to work well, but buyers should be aware of the limitations I mentioned.

Greater than one weekI was using this to connect to a remote sprinkler controller. It only works on 2.4G networks and needed to use this... I set it up incorrectly the first time and tried to reset it. The instruction manual text is so small but once I figured out what I needed to do to reset it, it was fine.
