> 24 hourI have a 2004 Wellcraft, center console with a 2-stroke, 50 hp Yamaha outboard hanging on it; my multi-function Yamaha gauge stopped working a couple of years back and I hesitated in replacing it because of the cost of a dealer doing the R&R. After another summer of not having a working tach I decided to replace it myself, I should have done it years ago! This is the OEM replacement for my original and the harness is color-coded to the original so switching it out was a breeze. One great feature is the elimination of the metal bracket that held the original in place with tiny nuts, this one has a threaded ring, locking the gauge in place by simply screwing it onto the body of the gauge. It couldnt have been an easier install.

> 24 hourOk. I just got a new 2021 Warrior V21-21 with a Yamaha 300 and a 9.9 high thrust kicker. (I love it!!!!) The 300 has a Tach and hour meter, but the 9.9 did not. I wanted a way to record the hours for maintenance purposes and bragging rights, but I wanted the dash to look factory, not just stick any old hour meter on. I did some research and there was surprisingly little info on if this would work or not. After calling Yamaha, she said it should work. (she did not instill a lot of confidence in me though). Because there was a free return policy, I bought it with the correct wiring harness. The red and blue wires connected to the harness, but went nowhere else. So the only wires that seemed to do anything were the yellow, green and black ones. Again...not much confidence at this point. Surprisingly, the Tach and hour meter actually work as they are supposed to. I have tested them in 2 ways. 1) I ran it for 1 hour and it showed 1 hour of use. 2) Then I left the Key On, Engine off, for 1.5 hours to see if it would register another hour and it did not. So the Hour meter is working perfectly, and the Tach is as well. Long term I have no idea, but its a Yamaha so...... Pros: 1) Tach and Hour meter work as they should. 2) Look factory installed. 3) the back light is orange just like the 300s are. Cons: 1) I am not aware of how to hook up the Trim and Oil meter for a 9.9 so they do not work. (It shows Full UP trim). 2) Kind of Pricey. (but what Yamaha gadget isnt?) 3) The hour meter does not show tenths of an hour like the 300s does. So it only shows full hours. Not a deal breaker, but I wish it showed 1/10s of an hour. Update: I forgot to mention that during testing the rpms showed about half of what I expected. After some checking, one person said they had to remove the rubber plug on the backside and reverse all 3 dip switches on the back to make it read a 4 stroke properly. I did that and it worked. (by reverse I mean switch them to the opposite position they were in)

> 24 hourFast delivery. Installed in the boat and did a quick test and everything seems fine! Would be nice to include some information on the 3 pin settings for trim, alternator type and 2-stroke/4-stroke but was able to figure out thankfully due to some old Internet forums.
