> 24 hourSo, I was referred this because many vrv guys who install the units recommend it. I cant say I like it. The reason is its not the easiest to use. I imagine if I use it more that it will be easier. The main reason I dont like it is because theres no clutch to stop you. Had to redo flares a few times. Id rather just use the black max. Its just easier to use and has a clutch. Im going to pawn this thing.

> 24 hourI bought this flare tool to replace a older flare tool ( nothing wrong with it ) . I had a Yellow Jacket flare tool and I think it is one of the best. This new tool is a little different . mine swings open lifting the up die or jaw . This model only lifts the die but doesn’t open up. When I ordered I thought I was buying the exact same mine. Once I opened the package and looked it over i noticed right off the bat that the dies didn’t line up correctly. I went my garage and got two cooper tubings to test it out. I did 3 flares on 1/4 tubing and 3 flares on 1/2 tubing. On all six the flares looked good with a little marking on the outsides of flare but on 3 I could notice the tubing had marks of the misalignment of the dies (or jaws ) that hold the tubing. I need this for work and I can’t afford not to have a flares that are not 100% perfect. If I need to redo a flare is waste a waste of time. The picture shows how the dies or jaws line up together.

> 24 hourMakes good flares but a little awkward to use until you get the hang of it . Make sure you secure cooper tight otherwise when flaring the end will push or slip out
