> 3 dayI bought this fiber media converter to create an ethernet connection between an underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) and the land station controller. The fiber solved some issues for me that UTP was causing. 3 camera signals and the control connection are carried over the fiber. I selected this media converter because it was inexpensive and had the LC connectors that I was looking for. The small size was also critically important. I removed the case so that I could more easily squezee the media converter in with the mini switch.

> 3 day光アイソレーションの効果なのか、ネットワーク速度が明らかに早くなった。汎用性を高めるため小型ONUをhgwに直結させるより、このメディアコンバータを間に入れ、RJ45に一旦変換して使用していますが大正解でした。 10GTekの製品は他にもsfp+ケーブルやRJ45-sfp+変換トランシーバー等を利用してますが、どれも高品質で大変満足しています。

> 3 dayRan fiber to my shed, great device for connecting to my copper switch. It is what I guess you call a traditional media converter with no link state pass-through. Each media gets its own link at the device but if you have broken fiber or something gets disconnected at the far end (far end fault), your other media will not be aware and still have an active link. And thats not a complaint considering the value, just something to be aware of. Would definitely buy again for home use.

> 3 dayI am using two of the media converters connected together with a short one meter fiber optic patch cable to provide Lightning isolation Protection to my local Intranet after sustaining several destructive Lightning events that came in over my under ground telephone/ DSL cable. The system is working well and I see no speed reduction. The 10Gtek converters are well made and impressive in their small size, zero configuration, and low cost. What more could I ask for. I would recommend them. Ken. KB6KKW

> 3 dayEasy to use, fast to set up, clean signal, right priced converters. I have bought several of these for hardwired desktop conversion. The signal is fast and clean, no glitches. I needed a high integrity signal for a secure VPN and these provided it. Great products.

> 3 dayBeen using these for several months now. They just work and have LED indicators to tell you what is going on. Been using in an old house for outdoor fiber runs. I feel much better about having non-conductive fiber outside going to my main computer setup than copper wire. This is an old house that has been expanded organically over the years. The walls really absorb WiFi and attempts of using high powered WiFi to power through the walls failed. Especially with the organic growth of the house over the years, it is hard to get new cable to all the places it needs to go while staying inside the house. While there was coax through the house (a lot of it outside the house) and MoCA adapters kind of sorta worked at first, the coax kept having heavy interference issues even after replacing several segments and was eventually abandoned. So seeing there were challenges getting new wire completely inside this house to all the requisite rooms, the outdoor fiber solution was selected and has been doing great so far. As everything including TV these days can go over Ethernet, this has been a one cable solution for everything and having networking largely point to point through switches along with some packet prioritization at key points (such as the firewall), everything seems to be running smoothly now. For WiFi, it is possible to backhaul over fiber and have multiple APs (access points) throughout the house, so now everywhere has strong, fast WiFi. Even when your APs see each other with reasonably good signal strength, it is a lot faster to backhaul over wired Ethernet than it is to repeat packets over a WiFi backhaul for a mesh network.

> 3 dayMy network has been blown out a few times from lightning hitting my cable modem. So I isolated it with these devices, keeping my cable modem on a separate power source and isolating the Ethernet line with a patch cord of Fiber. So far so good. Wish they gave us a GBIC option on cable modems, they are so susceptible to surges.
