> 3 dayI am using this product wet and it seems as though the backing-the loop and hook, comes off very quickly. Not a really expensive item but still, I think it should wear a little longer.

> 3 dayI did all my sanding and polishing by hand and when I saw this I was hoping that it would make the process easier. Well it did, A LOT easier and cut my time tremendously. So far I have only done Opals. I plan on doing Gem bone and others that are a bit harder material. I cant wait! If youre wanting something for sanding even if its not rocks and minerals, this will he perfect

> 3 dayLike other reviews state. Both mandrels bent on me immediately. Things things obviously lack quality being off balanced enough that when they spin they just bend. Total crap, very disappointed.

Greater than one weekIts easy to use and comes with plenty of grits. Just be sure to use on low errpm settings...too much friction heat could melt the hook & loop fastener.

> 3 dayBacker didnt last. Can I buy a backer without buying the kit?

> 3 dayThe style of hook and loop attachment doesnt match between the pad/base and the sandpaper. As a result, the sandpaper goes flying as soon as you start spinning it. This applies whether or not I use the soft foam intermediate pad. I havent been able to get more than 2 seconds of sanding done between hunts around the garage for where the paper flew off to.

> 3 dayBefore I leapt into another several hundreds of dollars’ worth of replacement headlight assemblies (2009 Camry) I decided to grind these down again and this time clear coat them. The last time I tried this I used a package restoration kit that had only two grits of pads and a hand tool. The assemblies were oxidized so badly it was not safe to drive at night with just the low beams on as the plastic was too crudded up. Using my electric DA with a 3” backing pad I started with 800 grit, spending some time grinding them down. I sprayed them down with Purple Power to clean them very well, then moved to the 1k grit. In between grits I washed and kept the lens moist with distilled water. From 1K I progressed up: 2K, 3K, 5K, 7K, 10K. By the time I hit 10k the lenses were looking pretty good. Finishing them with a plastic polisher (PlastX) and buffing pad they really shined. In the pictures you can see each side before and after the progress ending with the plastic polisher. The final picture is after the first heavy coat of clear sprayed onto it. Using the same pads I am polishing up the coats of clear until I get to the final product. The pads are holding up great in all this water. I keep the DA at a low speed. Great investment, these pads.

> 3 dayI took off one star on durability, as I dont know how long these disks will last. I use them to sane polymer clay, so time will tell. Each grade of sandpaper comes in a separate baggy which is labeled, but it would be useful if each disk could have a label printed on it.
