Greater than one weekWire wheel is as described, heavy duty. The wire is stiff and densely packed on the head and is more dense than I was anticipating. Vendor description says high carbon steel, and it is based on spark from metal-on-metal, but Id be shocked if there isnt a little nickel in there just based on the wires color. I used my DW drill on some spray foam which it happily chewed up. It also had no problem removing scale from my very abused axe. It left no visible scoring on the metals surface but happily removed the surface rust. A drill isnt likely the ideal mount for this type of tool. Mine tops out @ 2000RPM. I think it would benefit from more RPM but for my usage the drill is sufficient. See photo for man/tool/brush sizing.

Greater than one weekI tested in with the high-speed setting on my DeWalt drill to remove rust from a piece of scrap sheet metal. After ~30 seconds it came off with no issues, and I could have cleaned it up much more if I spent longer doing it. This shouldnt be used for big flat jobs like this since its such a small wheel, but the size makes it great for getting into nooks and crannies. After that work, there were no bent wires, even after I pushed the corners of the wheel into the sheet to try and bend them. Nothing came off, so in the short term it looks like this is a well made piece!

> 3 dayI used these to descale and remove decades of rust and rust pockets from a cast iron cauldron before resealing with rust prevention paint. Bristles held up well and did not deform under moderate pressure, which I would advise with this type of drill attachment (as well as a moderate speed.) ALWAYS wear safety glasses when using these types of wire brushes because individual wires can break off. These held well because Ive used plenty of similar products for many years, and starting with a light touch and slowly ramping up will help you sustain a safe project. Easy to chuck, gripped well in chuck, and lasted much longer than others Ive used in the past. Would order again.

> 3 dayThese wire brushes will fit most electric drills. The wire itself is sturdy and does a good job removing rust and so on. Each of these 2 brushes is 2-inches in diameter.

20-11-2024I used these attached to a multi-foot long bit extension to clear out the inside of an agave stalk for the purposes of making unique wind instruments. I found the bristles of this end up getting chocked full of the pulp but that it also helps keep them from getting overly aggressive with piece. For wood, these will definitely grind away anything soft and leave the harder parts of the wood scratched but not ruined. Im thinking I might try something a little more aggressive for the bulk of the work and then switch back to these as a milder approach to the outer edges before switching to something even less aggressive.
