> 3 dayI took them apart 3 years ago and used the 3in1 oil in the black bottle. Trouble is that oil becomes a black tar so I had to take them apart and do them again had to wire brush off the black tar . I used 30weight none detergent oil on the Lakewood and this sears compressor oil that does not state what type it is. Both these fans have oil ports and a wicking packing yet it has the old wrong oil. Both fans began the make noise on the front bushing , these are not bronze bushings they are steel. I had to keep removing the front cover and wipe the slight black film off and work the shaft in and out to clean this and re oil until they were clean. I got this oil because the Patton fan kept doing this so I used this oil and its been fine for a month and no noise. If they start this again . I need to remove the old packing because when the bushings get hot the wrong oil gets back in then use this oil on both. Point is I cant use the oil ports because of the wrong oil in the old packing will get back in the bushings. With heat alone it does. I will wait until any noise starts again then replace the packing and use this oil and should be fine. These fans are from 1991 . Took years before either made noise , I have no idea if the wick packing was oiled and the bushings or why wick packing was used for steel bushings, I assume its for holding oil released by heat. Point is dont use anything other than this 3 in 1 20 weight none detergent oil thats what Mcmillen who makes these old motors told me to use 20 weight none detergent motor oil.

> 3 dayI got this oil to oil the impellers on my Chugger pumps for homebrewing. This product was recommended on The Electric Brewery by Kal. It works great and is very inexpensive. It has a nice cap that snaps on so oil does not spill out. I also used this for my Harbor Freight nailer. Must have for in the tool box.

> 3 dayIt did stop the squeak, but I dont know about its longevity. I learned that a special oil is needed for electrical items, so the regular 3 in 1 oil was inappropriate.

> 3 dayDecent price, usually I lose a small can like this before I use it all up. Electric motor oil it fills the bill.

> 3 dayI bought this oil to stop my stepper from squeaking noises. The noise drove me crazy.. I applied all joints on my mini stepper with this oil and the noise just went away!! Noise problem is gone with only $2. I’m so happy with my puchase. Highly recommend it!

Greater than one weekI like 3-1 not 100% sure companies really change products like this but I am sure they do some testing. In my case I used it on a shampoo machine and it sounded better and thats all I can go by. I feel any motor especially electric create heat and lube helps

> 3 dayThe bottle I got leaked so I got oil on my hands so that was not good. I like how the cap is attached to bottle but it got in the way a little bit so I had to clean oil off it. But I disassembled my fan motor, cleaned all the parts and used this oil for all the parts and after it was assembled and powered on, my fan works better than it has in a long time! It has more power and makes almost no noise now even when its been running non-stop for last 48 hours on high!
