The cord and connections are heavy duty and come in a convenient carry bag. Works great.

I got this adapter for the rare occasions that I need to plug in my 50 amp RV and all that is available is a 15 amp outlet. The circuit won’t be able to run the air conditioners, microwave, or electric heat (at least not simultaneously), but it will allow me to keep the batteries charged, the 12v devices running, and watch TV and power my CPAP and device charging.

I upgraded my shore power from 20A to 30A then realized that I only had access to 15A power supplies. So here we are. I ordered the adapter and it fit perfectly. I like the twist to lock feature and appreciate the microfiber towel (although I don’t know what to use it for yet. I’ve tested everything and it works perfectly

I didn’t use this adapter for its intended purpose of connecting an RV to a residential 15a plug. I used it to connect an APC 3000XL UPS battery backup to a residential 30a plug. The battery backup has a NEMA L5-30P connector. This adapter allowed me to plug this into a residential outlet to test the UPS. As always when plugging something like this in you need to ensure that you don’t pull more amps that your circuit can handle. While one end of the cable is 30 amps, the other is 15 amps and you always work off of 80% of the lowest ampacity. So in this case 12 amps. The adapter worked great for my testing and I will get the proper plug installed now that I know the UPS is working. Also included with this adapter is a reusable carrying bag and a microfiber cloth. This is obviously more suited for the intended purpose when working with an RV. This is a well built adapter that should do what you need as long as you follow the electrical safety rules.

I needed a dogbone converter to go from my 30A camper to to a standard 120V 15A home connection. I had used a small adapter in the past, but at campsites, this can be annoying when hooking up to the pedestal. This unit will solve that issue nicely. The storage bag is a nice extra as it help keep it clean when not in use and also helps keep my electrical equipment organized a bit. Overall, this adapter works as advertised and I wouldnt hesitate to buy it again if needed.

Whether youd like to power up your RV at home, a friends house (Moochdocking), a generator, or an older campground with limited power, this is the adapter you need. While you cant power everything on a 30A camper at the same time, you will be able to run 1 air conditioner, or other appliances. Our newer Class C motorhome has a power management panel. I can set it for 15 Amps, and it will prevent overloading when using this adapter. If your camper doesnt have this, just be mindful of your current usage.

As another reviewer stated, this is limited by the straight 5-20 plug. Most of these pigtails have both plug and receptacle at a 90° angle. While the TT30R is exactly that, the 5-20P is straight, which creates a stress point if that part is plugged into a wall outlet. Frankly, for those situations, a pigtail with a 90° angle 5-20P should be use. With that said, there is a situation where this straight 5-20P would be preferred, and thats with a (heavy duty) extension cord.

Having a series of different plug in adapters is almost a necessity. Long ago I ended up at a camping site where I couldnt plug in. A trudge down to the camp store, I purchased an overpriced OK quality adaptor. It is best to be in the place of having what it takes to plug into whatever the campsite has. Or in this case, I can plug my trailer in at home. True, this will not be the full 30 amps, but at home Im not pulling that much power. It will allow me to check everything before I leave the driveway though. That is good and inexpensive piece of mind.
