What I wanted

I actually decided that I was going to use this to hold my dogs smart tag together and keep the battery in place. He kept losing signal when hed jump the fence to go be the wondering soul that he is. And well after the several thousand dollars Ive spent paying his fines. I threw my hands up and said jokingly that I was going to tape the tag to him. So I inturn raped it to his collar. He got out about a week ago and the control officer said that he was going to waive the fee for this time because he had such a hard time unwrapping the tag to verify the SN that I gave him inside that he just picked him up to ask what type of electrical tape I used.

I thought all electric tapes are similar and it did not matter who the maker was. But I was wrong. Previous tapes purchased from Amazon and Home Depot performed poorly or were inconsistent in terms of performance: the tapes did not adhere well; they were hard to cut; they did not hold well when stretched; and etc. . This purchase from 3M was different. It comes off relatively easily. It cuts easily with regular sharp scissors. It stretches without snapping. It manages to adhere well even after stretching. It wraps around well and sticks well. You can apply multiple times on top of layers and the tape will still adhere well. It works well in all ways. . My advice for using: Use sharp scissors. Do not handle too much. Make sure your hands are clean. Make sure your scissors are clean. Stretch the tape while still on the roll as your apply and then cut. If you have to apply the tape on top of a previous layer, be sure to press it down well with a blunt object. . Well priced. Sized right. Would buy again.

Im not handy, as I mentioned. BUT my headset, which is wired (Im old school), had a wire that was showing and knew I needed to fix it or get another headset for over forty bucks to replace same one. This worked well. Just cut a bit and wrapped around throughly, plus there are instructions on package, but doubt you would need them. Anyway, saved me from getting new headset, met all criteria for what I needed for. STRETCHY, STICKS WELL. Beyond that, I dont know what to say.

Did what is is supposed to do at a reasonable cost. Good quality tape.

Great I have it on all my camaras absolutely covers. Hands down best tape for camaras. The hackers won’t see you on your phone while you’re on the toilet it’s great.

I have tried multiple different brands of electrical tape for different wiring projects but nothing comes close to 3M quality. I recently tried insulating a wiring repair with tape bought from everyones favorite discount tool store with the initials HF. Well that stuff was garbage and would barely stick to anything, including itself. I intentionally searched for and bought 3M because I figured if anyone could get it right it would be them, and I was right. Great flexibility and adhesion. I checked my work a few weeks later and was very happy to see all tape ends still firmly adhered to the work, not lifting up like the other brands I have used. When you want to best go with 3M.

Aside from electrical uses, I use this for marking the handles of my tools, backpack, suitcases, Yetis and expensive cables. It prevents mishaps when other people accidentally claim ownership of my good gear ;) it’s easy to prove the correct owner by showing the yellow marking that I have on the items. This tape has the right amount of stretch, strength and opacity. I use a lot of it. I just wish that it was sold at the pre-Covid price.
